FFXV clearly wasn't planned with this in mind. There's suprisingly complex movesets in the game, put apparently someone decided at the last minute that the game had to be playable by a mentally deficient toddler, or they just couldn't balance it.

It looks nice and it’s very very comfy, but the story sucks and the combat is buns. I enjoyed my fifty hours and I’ll probably replay it but it’s really a 4/10, maybe 5/10 at best. It’d be better if it had Remakes combat

...that I never bothered learning because it always felt like I was fighting on a slip-and-slide, and most fights revolved around poking the enemy in the butt to trigger a canned animation with a teammate.
