Video game bosses that took you way too long to beat

For me, it's Evrae. Took me literally more than a year. I then got to Seymour battle #2 the same day I beat it and got stuck for another year.

Any of the Dark Aeons, literally took me 18 years to beat

I'm stuck at Yunalesca because I can't stop jacking off.

This fucker was a whole 2 hour battle, I was seriously dozing off towards the end a few times until I came to and realized I won. I must've been pressing buttons with my eyes closed

Falling asleep while playing is that entire game in a nutshell.

>the red carpet has teeth

A lot of the field music does have a cozy feeling

I assume you didn't know you could just send overdrive Yojimbo on their asses, pay him something like 10000 gil and instakill them?

Yeah, and the gameplay had a dozey feeling.

That wouldn’t be fair for my opponents user

DON'T BE FALLING NOW

ff10 was fucking bullshit. it was either look up a guide on gamefaqs on how to optimize or be unoptimized and get walled by bosses :)))))))

>fairness and FFX dark aeons in the same context
Don't make me laugh. I did Dark Anima without Yojimbo, and after 3 hours on ONE successful attempt, I decided these meme bosses can suck my dick.

Proud Clod in FFVII. I'm about to head to the final dungeon, I hope Sephiroth doesn't take as long.

Gameplay is such shit that people are literally falling asleep playing. Bravo, Square Enix

Yiazmat in the original version of Final Fantasy XII. It's not even a hard fight but you are capped at 9999 damage and the boss has 50 million HP. You literally just sit there watching your characters hack away at it, especially if you have the right gambit set-up. The best weapon to use against the boss is also one of those shitty rare drops from a rare game so you probably won't have that either. I think it took me 2 hours to beat it.

Bonus FF bosses are always sponges, nothing hard about them

it took me around half an hour to beat the true final boss in Etrian Odyssey 5.

>tfw waiting for FFXV since 2007
>finally get to play it
>get bored after 1 hour
>haven't touched it since
Not even raising a daughter for 18 years and seeing her immediately signing porn contracts could top the disappointment I feel in FFXV.

>Not even raising a daughter for 18 years and seeing her immediately signing porn contracts
Fucking hell. Sorry to hear that, user.

I suppose I should have said would instead of "could".

What's kinda funny is that the updated version of the game allows the ring to work on it. It still takes like 20 minutes for it to die that way (unless you get the 1% instant kill with the special move) and all you do is hold down one button but it's still a better way than actually fighting it.

Bomberman Portable, World 9 boss, it felt like a generic Cuphead boss battle full of all kinds of projectiles and things on the screen forcing you to focus

Smoke Bombs completely fuck Evrae. The nice thing about FFX is basically every boss can be hit with some kind of useful status ailment.

Fuck this teleporting duplicating spell spamming bitch.

FFX is one of my all time favourite games but the postgame is complete and utter trash.
Yojimbo's existence is proof they were aware of this.

I literally had no issue beating any FFX boss. Even Penance.

But then my PS2 save had 800 hours on it. Don't ask me how or why. I went full autistic with that game. Maxxed everything, unlocked everything. All Blitzball moves, all max level in that. ALl legendary weapons. (Venus Sigil, more like Penis Sigil, fucking lightning bolts). ALl monster capture complete. All dark Aeons.

I went as far as to clear EVERY sphere from the sphere grid, then replace them with the +4 spheres (Or +200 HP/+40 MP spheres). THEN after that, I sat and figured out if I cleared every sphere and add my own custom amount of each stat, and how many I'd need to fully optimise my party to be the strongest. I loved watching Lulu's mog walk up to a huge monster and BOP it with 99999 damage coming up.

It still bothers me to this day that no matter what I tried, my Aeons couldn't have maxxed everything either. Also that your HP could never be 99999, without sacrificing other stats.

Barry will defend this

This fucker and the next boss that looks like a snake

Same. Evrae took me months.
then I, without guides, somehow bumbled into getting the Wings To Discovery from that temple in Calm Lands and mixing them to blow up Seymour Flux and Yunalesca. Evrae ended up being the hardest boss in the game.

Pretty sure you could get every stat capped out including hp

that game was brutal at the start

Evrae is the only fight where you can get stuck if you didn't keep multiple saves. Other "wall bosses" are in locations that allow you to grind up your characters.

pc port when

that boss will only rape you the first time you fight it, afterwards you equip some poison resist skills or accesories I can't remember, and you can beat him easily

You can still grind inside the ship, at least in the original FFX.

Yeah true there's some RNG bullshit with Dark Anima which turns it into a lucky based fight unless you grind for 1000000 hours for Ribbons. I think that one is fair to Yojimbo it.

Yeah i dropped this game. Could not stand running empty fields for hours, for fuck sake, you have a car and it only goes roads. Battle system is holding one button. I hope FF7R is better.

>You can still grind inside the ship, at least in the original FFX.

Really? I thought you couldn't fight anything until The path before the 2nd Seymour fight.

It worked on launch. I killed him in 5 minutes.
I actually killed him the normal way with maxed out characters after I farmed that super robot and it took 5 minutes as well.
