Of course. FF6 is still viewed as the best. FF5 has the best gameplay with its party builds. FF4 has a great story and characters.
FF1-3 are skippable. 3 is still nice, plus it has the DS remake if you want.
I like every FF game. Play Dawn of Souls, then 3 remade for DS, then 4, 5 and 6 SNES emulated
You could also emulate the GBA versions instead but you'd really have to fix the audio, there's a patch for that. GBA versions have more content but smaller screen size.
Never played the 4 DS remake so don't know about that but the art style looks worse to me than the original.

5 is my favorite, and I like 1 more than some other games in the series, it's fun. Though I also don't think 2 is awful.
