Is buying a Switch Pro controller worth it or should i just buy this universal adapter with a PS4 controller...
switch pro has godlike battery life, PS4 has shit battery life. comes down to where you like your analog sticks located. switch pro is basically a diet xbox controller, PS4 juses the symmetrical sticks
Nintendo put an entire 3DS battery in the Switch Controller. 50 hour battery, nice grippy feel, good buttons, solid build.
Buy an official nintendo pro, 3rd party one sucks ass
there has never been a good third party controller in history, goes without saying
Like other anons have said, the battery life alone is worth the price of admission. Very comfy controller as well.
If you like the analog stick drifting after a couple months, sure
I got one of those things. Using my 360 controller feels great
Just buy the cheap 20 dollar version.
you'd really think that after all this time someone would figure out how to make a good cheap controller by now
you can brick your console with that thing
battery life isnt an issue for me since i have 2 ps4 controllers. the other is always being charged, since i play PC/remote play with it

ASCII SNES pad blew the official controller out of the water. Despite looking similar thing was weighter, the buttons had more spring to them and the d-pad was much more concise.
user I have that exact adapter
It works alright but the stick lags about half the fucking time, it can’t wake the console, and it disconnects if you look at it funny
that being said, it’s not the worst thing in the world. I like the ps4 dpad so I use it for Mario maker and it works decent
thanks. is Pro as versatile as competitor controllers btw? useful for PC, Steam etc
Pro Controller is good, gyro aim is god tier
i really like the switch pro controller, tends to the be controller I connect to my pc most - has steam controller support, feels pretty ergonomic imo
No analog triggers is a bummer for some games but I actually prefer that for the most part personally so that’s up to preference
Steam has native support and there are user profiles that make the use of Gyro per game, just gotta download the mapping
>Mfw playing Monster Hunter, Resident Evil 4, GTA with gyro
it works with steam but you have to actually turn the switch off all the way instead of just putting it in sleep before it'll properly connect, i don't know why no one says this in all those "plug the controller into your pc and it just werks" posts
i bought one of these, but a different brand that was supposed to have less input lag than this one, and i still expierenced significant input lag. i bought a pro controller time after that and I think it's a pretty good controller.
I'm And yeah, connecting is so bad compared to other plug in and play. Have to pair it everytime I wanna play, and unpair it. Which takes like 2 clicks but that's 100% more work than my Wii U pro turning it on with just one button press.
Is drift an issue with the pro controller? Battery life doesn't mean much to me if the sticks are going to give out in a few weeks
i had a pro controller for about 7 months without drift if that helps. I think the pro controller could get drift, but i don't think it's as bad as the joycons.
>the sticks are going to give out in a few weeks
what the fuck are you people doing to your joycons? i've had a switch for over a year and use the joycons most of the time and they are fine
How did you guys get your pro controller to work on its own with steam? The home button would light up and then the controller would turn off imediately so i downloaded third party drivers to get it to work. I guess I'm not turning back now cause it works fine now but I really thought it didn't work on its own on pc.
plugging it in when the console is turned off works for me, it takes a minute for steam to realize it's there though
Pro controller is the best controller. Minus its dpad. There SNES like controller alternatives that fixes that problem, i was actually curious in getting one
I got this after I found my Wii-U pro controller that I only ever used once, works great on Switch and PC
ive barely played the 5 games i had on it. but the one i got last year was the 1st edition switch
i have a switch pro, ds4 and xbox controller. i only game on PC but figured I get all the controllers at least. xbox by a country mile is the best for PC. Not even close.
