Should classes be race-locked in fantasy RPGs?

It depends on the game

No, that image is a different situation since their stats are bad for their roles, which is something that could be changed at character creation.
You certainly can race lock, it should be an option for devs, but I don't think all games should do it.
I want that plump orc to sit on my face.

no i want to play a human demon hunter dammit

>str:160
>those thighs and belly

no, but they should be lore-locked.

Should OPs be forced to start their uninteresting threads with non-coomerbait images?

yes as it'll give more depth to the lore and it would help provide a better feeling of Class Identity then simply letting any race play said class.

That's not coom, that's cuute.

>tfw no strongfat pork witch wife

>Human bard makes up songs and gets the orc mage to sing along
>they're actually spells and the orc mage ends up casting them automatically
>orc cant memorize the spell but knows if she sings "my ass is so fat" a fireball comes out so she'll do that the next time

>human bard sings songs to buff the elf's charisma
>he actually starts to feel more confident and doesnt need to over-compensate
>his high intellect lets him focus and come up with inventions that help him, such as firearms or bloodborne style trick weapons, and becomes a better fighter

bards are broke as fuck

Only if there is a good lore reason, otherwise I do want to be able to make gimped charactered for the challenge.

>what are racial stats
I wish more games did Race stats, and more gendered stats. like Morrowind did.

too fat

We can't have FUN here

I definitely think racial/gendered stats are interesting, not for every game but it does make character creation a more involved thing.

>character creation a more involved thing.
good, I want complexities. I want to pick stuff that they will mention in the future like talking about what childhood you chose for you character and have in impact on the game more that a simple stat change. I want to think - how gimped will I be if I roll Orc mage?

>undead priest
>uses holy magic

???

magics not real dude

Yes

blessed litch or undead champion

this is uru's art right?

i dont want class restrictions per race but i would want some modifications on abilities to fit in with lore. like for a human priest he prays to a stereotypical monotheistic god while an orc priest prays to an orcish god
still the same spell it its core but maybe with slightly different numbers and a different ability description

then for racial bonuses ive always been thinking about this in skyrim speficically, argonians khajist and orcs are also part of the empire and *should* have imperial bonuses

Holy magic is the one that granted by god. Undead have their own gods and thus holy magic. Check for example Dominions series.

I like the idea of someone being constantly pumped up with holy magic, so that they are essentially undead because of it.

Of course who better to shepherd the dead and spread word of the afterlife than the dead themselves?

Yes
