I haven't played this game in years, and now it's two games?

I haven't played this game in years, and now it's two games?

Which should I play? I can't find a definitive answer.

Shattered Savannas are very pretty on Bedrock so that.

If you can still log into your old account you already have Java. Generally labeled the superior version. You gain access to legacy versions of the game the way back to the beginning and access to the in development snapshots for future updates.
Bedrock is the version that's main feature is cross playing with all consoles, mobile, and Windows 10. I think they're still doing the offer if you already owned Java you get Bedrock as well so you could try both if you wanted to.

Shattered Savannas exist on PC. They're very pretty here too :D

Java is objectively better on every side except performance. Less bugs, more defined mechanics, able to play any version you want, etc

Neither. You're a grown ass man. Put down the games. Put down the toys.

Java performance is incredibly shitty compared to Bedrock though.

I dont like them on java. They look as bland has regular savannas.
Bedrock makes the grass and leaves greener and the whole are goes from a 0 to a 10/10.

I mean if you have a toaster it's noticeable but I can run the new snapshots at 60fps pretty consistently
Bedrock is so fucked on the bugs level too.

It's not about the fps.
I can run Java at over 100 fps easily, it's about the shitty Java garbage collector which can lead to micro stuttering.

Bedrock if you're tied to a console or a toaster PC with Windows: Cancer Edition and never plan on playing anything but vanilla.

Java in every other case.

Nope, that offer ended on the 21st.

Are you not using optifine?

Bedrock can be played with anyone else on a bedrock version of minecraft (e.g. xbox and mobile playing in the same world) and runs significantly better than java overall. Otherwise Java is generally the better option as it has mods, mountains of cool redstone builds, and better material farms

No.
I did try to fix it with various Java startup parameters though.
It's all kinda bad in different ways though.

Get optifine then. It's a "mod" that increases performance and enables shaders. Dynamic lighting too, so you can actually hold a torch and the area around you lights up.

Idk, googled shattered Savannas, bedrock version looked like Savannas with more hills, while Java had some interesting verticality, though the savanna grass is not too good looking. Feel free to drop a pic, but until then, I'll stick with Java shattered savanna

java if you want mods bedrock if you want to suck microsofts dick

I know Optifine.
I just seriously doubt it's going to fix Java garbage collection.
Most people just don't notice one skipped frame every 30 seconds or so.
I am cursed with noticing every slight inconsistency though.

expect you can't run optifine if you want to play on the latest updates on java, the last stable optifine version is functional for 1.14.4 patch

Dont forget worldgen

All i know is Bedrock is cross play compatible and Java isnt

Optifine 1.15 is basically done. You can get the preview version now.

and it's soon to be obsolete because java 1.16 is already looming in the horizon
be prepared to wait another 250 days for optifine 1.16

God, 1.16 came out fast, didn't it. 1.14 had like 50 snapshots and this has double the content basically

dunno who decided to spice developers coffee with adderall, but the sheer amount of content that they are planning to push out with just a few months after 1.15 is staggering
or maybe I just got used to the very stagnant update cycles before 1.14

Buzzy bee's while receiving an overall positive reaction from the usual shills, was bad enough that the genuine fans bitched for the first time in awhile. They realized they need too pump out something good soon before the youtube channels realize there's money in bitching about minecraft instead of praising it.

honestly the only good thing about 1.15 was the honey blocks and the way how they interact with slime blocks, but that might be just my inner redstone builder talking

Where the fuck do you think you are?

the only advantage that bedrock has is that it runs smoother, and the colors are slightly more vibrant. everything else is better in java version. mods, vanilla redstone tricks, etc.

I just hope Mojang can keep this steam going forward
From 1.13 onwards their work ethic seems to have definitely changed for the better

1.15, while not adding a ton in terms of tangible content, fixed a lot of bugs and stuff under the hood
Some of these, 3D biomes for example, translated to getting new content in 1.16

Depends.
Are you underage?
Do you have windows 10?
Do you suck dick?
Do you want pic related instead of over 1 million free to download mods?
Then get Microshaft Bedcock Edition (tm) NOW!
Buy in the next 12 seconds and you get 500 FREE MINECOINS (tm)
>version chasing
look at this absolute muppet, and you wonder why you have bad performance when you shuffle after microsofts sloppy pajeet code seconds

Is there another mod-designated MC version in sight, such as 1.7.10 and to a lesser extent 1.12?
