There is no "dream world." He and Zanarkand are a physical thing summoned into the Spira the same way any other summon is.

IIRC, there wasn't a dream world. The dream Zanarkand was in a physical space in Spira. He was part of that dream, and it's evident that dreams made by fayth manifest physically.
