Is there a mega man game better than X4?
Is there a mega man game better than X4?
X1 and X8 for starters
Personally I like X5 better too, but only 3 people in the world are gonna agree with me on that
X1 is the best one, then probably X4.
>x8chad
BASED
MMX1
MMX2
MM9
MM3
MM2
I played that one three times recently and its way easier than i remember. Some bosses are still cunts
>an maverick
what version of the game is that? i dont remember one with that kinda font.
X5 feels like a more polished X4
undub patch for X4 PS1
X1
Yeah, X1, X2 and maybe X3, X4 is way too fucking easy.
>X5 feels like a more polished X4
Come on, I liked X5 but it felt too rushed in some aspects
Played it today for the first time and fucking crushed it in an hour. Still gotta do Zero though. Is it like a Easy/Hard mode situation with X being easy and Zero being hard?
I don't think that one was rushed, at least not to the extent X6 was rushed... But it did have some weird ideas, like RNG endings and the way bosses' leves worked and the special parts, it felt unpolished and not as a tight of an experience as X4.
I'd say they're about equal in difficulty, personally I thought Zero was easier, but overall it's an easy game, I really wished it had some sort of hard mode.
rediscovering the series with the X and Zero collections after years of not playing the games was amazing
X4 is great, but I would probably put it below X1, X2 and Zero 3
The plot of X4 is fucking retarded but i love it
Everybody lost in the end
>X8
I like X8 too but better than X4? Not with half the game being gimmick stages, no, sorry.
>I cant believe i was a maverick. Does that mean im destinated to kill everyone and go insane?. Im going to call X, he always manage to cheer me
>HOLE SHIT ZERO I MAY TURN A MAVERICK ANY TIME. PROMISE ME YOU WILL KILL ME THEN
real talk, the X becoming a maverick / dictator schtick Inafune wanted to pull for the zero series originally was beyond retarded. I could understand X being desensitized or something, but straight up becoming a maverick always sounded too far fetched
The only thing that bothers me is how weirdly gimmicky and straight forward some of the stages are. Izzy/Firefly's stage is pretty decent but then you have shit like Grizzly, Whale, Dinorex and Necrobat who are basically straight lines with their capsule and items shoved down a hole or in a random aclove right at the end. The final stages are unironically the best because they're almost entirely devoted to straight platforming.
Later X is just really bad about this shit.
>Half the game
More like anything that isn’t the intro stage and like one of the maverick stages (the one that’s got a pseudo stealth gimmick in it iirc).
What the fuck were they thinking? They finally fixed the shit parts about X7 and then they forgot the had to put some actual platforming gameplay in the damn game.
it was the one with the best dub
You can easily make the argument for the following games
X1
X2
You can sort of try but no one will believe you
X3
You're just deluding yourself
X5
X8
Now you're just trolling
X6
X7
COLONEL! STOP THE COUPE NOW!
>NEHVUH!
Where does X4 fit in those?
Based dynamo
I'll help you out
Noah's Park - Short Intro Stage
Booster Forest - Only platforming stage with an optional gimmick (ride armor)
Troia Base - Arenas
Pitch Black - Hallways even straighter than X4's and Arenas with a "light/dark" gimmick
Primrose - Gravity/Puzzle
Metal Valley - Boss Auto Scroller
Dynasty - Vehicle Auto Scroller
Central White - Vehicle Auto Scroller
Inferno - Vertical Auto Scroller
Jakob - Auto Scroller Arena (With a kickass track)
Gateway - Boss Rush
Sigma Palace - Short Platforming Stage with 1 enemy type after the intro section
In total, there was only one full platforming stage in the entire game that had the pacing of a good X game. Everything else had some bullshit scrolling or stop and go gimmick.
are you dense?
Try reading the question again user.
lol, yeah I see it now
All that unpolished stuff was because X5 was handed off to outside developers while Inafune was planning shit for Z1, and when he was shown this they didn’t have enough time to change any of that wonky shit so they just let it ride.
X1, X2, the entire Zero and ZX series.
>Noah's Park - Short Intro Stage
That's not quite true. Noah's Park is pretty long. It might also be the only intro stage that requires a revisit and has it's own capsule.
>Booster Forest - Only platforming stage with an optional gimmick (ride armor)
Definately one of the better stages though getting the Ride Armor to the Lift thing is both counter intuitive and a pain. Thank fuck the capsule doesn't require this at all.
>Troia Base - Arenas
Agreed. Cyber/Computer stages in X always suck.
>Pitch Black - Hallways even straighter than X4's and Arenas with a "light/dark" gimmick
I liked this level. The puzzle and Capsule was mildly clever in how they're hidden and required you to look around for a bit. Something I feel is generally missing in modern X games.
>Primrose - Gravity/Puzzle
A little dickish but once you get past the Necrobat gravity switching it's still an X stage. Just with rotating rooms.
>Metal Valley - Boss Auto Scroller
Only the very first part. Once you get to certain point the screen stops locking.
>Dynasty - Vehicle Auto Scroller
>Central White - Vehicle Auto Scroller
Gimmicky trash
>Inferno - Vertical Auto Scroller
Possibly the worst Megaman level to exist that isn't in X6. Memorisation shit on par with the Quickman lasers and the shit doesn't even end with the boss.
>Jakob - Auto Scroller Arena (With a kickass track)
>Gateway - Boss Rush
>Sigma Palace - Short Platforming Stage with 1 enemy type after the intro section
Calling the boss rush stage a gimmick seems pointless since every X game besides the first has them.
I'm not knocking Gateway for being a boss rush stage, but it isn't a stage either so I can't give it points. Metal Valley is barely a stage on the retread since you're backtracking a mostly flat terrain, but with a bunch of roombas on the floor.
