Do you idiots honestly believe that this drama will affect the game sales?
lol, same situation with Gamefreak and Pokemon SW&SH, tons of uproar and yet normies will still buy the game despite being spoiled, in fact, tons of people are now preordering the game.
Not saying that this is a good thing but you must be idiotic if the game will perform bad sales wise.
Pokemon is the 2nd most iconic franchise in the world, TLOU is irrelevant literal who shit that nobody in real life talks about or even knows what it is
Camden Evans
TLOU 1 sold 17 million copies
Parker Evans
Oh yeah so what?? Whine the pooh is much better than any Pokemon garbage.
Aaron Morris
Why would anyone need to buy it though? The story is all these games have.
Ryan Brown
Yeah yeah user, guess what happens to divisive games. No legs past week 3. Just like Death Stranding
Nathan Kelly
>it's another twitter screencap thread
Chase Martinez
movie games and pokemon aren't comparable
John Myers
There's a big difference between an actual game like pokemon (it pains me to say it) and a literal movie where its only saving grace (the story) turns out to be so fucking shit.
Jeremiah Russell
its funny that the biggest argument about why the pokemon games sucked so much was because they don't put effort in anymore as the games sell regardless, to which the counterargument is 'oh yeah, well they still sell regardless!!!!' like the game selling well in spite of it being stupid is not something you should be happy over. people blindly buying something doesn't guarantee quality, and agreeing that people will buy it blindly in spite of the lack of quality is not a retort no matter how smugly you say it
The game will be considered one of the best this gen after a week.
Lincoln Young
Across two consoles without a huge gap in time between the re-release and the original release you disingenuous shill
Austin Taylor
>Do you idiots honestly believe that this drama will affect the game sales? no, most gamers are retarded normies who pay no attention to what's going on in their hobby beyond release dates and never, EVER, learn from getting fleeced
Ayden Phillips
>Across two consoles without a huge gap in time between the re-release and the original release you disingenuous shill
PlayStation 3 version of Last of Us: June 14 2013
PlayStation 4 version of Last of Us: July 29 2014
So only a year of difference, that's not a huge gap in time
Caleb King
Not him but he said without, not with.
James Rogers
People buy Pokemon for the gameplay. People buy Naughty Dog games for the story.
Elijah Myers
Sony fanboys dont buy games because of the gameplay, they buy exclusives so they can signal their tribalism for Playstation.
Angel Miller
Who is this twitter dweeb and what are his credentials?
Christian Johnson
>Across two consoles without a huge gap in time between that would indicate people didn't just rebuy in a new console, who would buy the same game twice so soon
Adam Evans
>who would buy the same game twice so soon Are you serious?
Double dipping will occur, as seen with the double dippers with GTA V, especially since PS4 had nothing else to play for ages. In addition PS4 netted a lot of people coming from 360 with no idea what to get with their console.
Samuel King
It was bundled with every PS4 for ages and they include that in the figure. May as well claim Wii Sports is an iconic franchise.
Jeremiah Watson
People make that mistake so often that it has a name, it's called "ad populum" or appeal to popularity.
Dominic Ramirez
Wii sports is ten times more iconic than the last of us
Alexander Hill
And you are only comparing one of the most well known franchises to a piece of dog shit.
Kayden Gomez
Most Pokemon players fucking live for spoilers. Honestly all they want is to know what the new Pokemon are. Each new game is like an expansion, it doesn't matter if it's shit it's just more of what they already like so they'll take anything. Plus the switch is starved for good games.
With that said, I'm sure this will still well but I doubt that it'll come away unscathed. Plus - unlike Pokemon that has many entries and can easily bounce back from a little backlash - the long-term impact of negative reception to The Last of Us could completely squash it as a brand and dash any sequel hopes, it doesn't have a pool of goodwill and cultural relevance to fall back on. That's what we've seen as a trend with big franchise names that get a shitty installment lately: they might still turn a profit, but if they're poor enough they poison the franchise and kill the sales of future movies/games/etc instead. Look at Star Wars after TLJ. Or ask BioWare how making another Mass Effect after 3's backlash turned out.
Michael Morgan
lots of people already saying they cancelled. also, I recognize this shill's gay formatting. kill yourself.
Nathan Butler
Bad goyim! Get hyped for product, then get hyped for next product.
Camden Perry
Benji is sadly right. Normans gonna norm.
Aiden Nelson
I can already watch the whole thing, why would I buy it? For the mediocre at best gameplay?
>collector's edition back in stock after being out of stock for ages >implying no one's cancelling lol
David White
It's even worse than that because Disney can afford to make a bad Star Wars movie since most money comes from merchandising. Pokemon is in the same boat. The Last of Us in the other hand is a different story.
Joseph Diaz
See, that's you, and that's some amount of other people on this site and/or reddit. That's still just a hand full of people, while most other people won't care and still buy it. It's the same with so many other games Yas Forums claims will fail, the normal people outnumber Yas Forumsirgins by orders of magnitude.
Wyatt Hill
Gamers get pissed off at being treated like retarded cattle that will buy anything, then they proceed to act like retarded cattle and buy anything.
>Gigantic uproar about Pokemon Sword and Shield >Is the second highest selling game on the Switch after a month >Gigantic uproar about Metro Exodus being Epic Games Store exclusive >Sells way more than the previous Metro game >Gigantic uproar about Borderlands 3 being Epic Games Store exclusive for six months >Sells way more than the previous game, retards all buy it day one full well KNOWING that if they just waited 6 months they could have bought it on Steam.
>The Last of Us in the other hand is a different story. They can start selling golf irons as merch, to rub in the fact that they killed off the only likeable character.
