grab some popcorn. the biggest hurdle to mahjong is learning the nuance. The game itself is pretty similar to gin rummy, it's all the little details that you need to know that makes it such a steep curve. Once you get the basics down of how everything works, then you'll be good. The last hour of the video are example hands, but you really need to watch at least the first 2 hours.

Legendary cancerous tripfag from 2007, he loved a series called Akagi, it's about gambling, the protagonist, Akagi, is a cold calculating dude that always wins, just that. The tripfag then twisted his personality into a headcanon where Akagi was the ultimate amoral character, who cared for no one and would break any moral code to get what he wants.
With that the tripfag was very active to post several threads (back then there was no captcha, no waiting between posts, etc.) where he would preach characters with any sort of morality were cancers upon fiction, his usual targets where Superman (posting on Yas Forums), Mario (posting on Yas Forums), Kamen Rider (posting on /m/), Kenshiro (posting on Yas Forums), he was very adamant in saying these character were absolute shit and anyone who liked any sort of media with them in should kill themselves.
The tripfag was so fucking active that many people liked him, especially on Yas Forums since this is the worst board by far and has always been, and helped him on spamming his threads.
Is one of the many pathetic parasites who idolize him and repeat his garbage 13 years later.

because they're idiots who never watched Akagi. Akagi himself doesn't do what he does for any other reason than the fact he has a broke brain and can't feel alive unless he's risking death, but he acknowledges this about himself. And when he goes up against the corrupt old boomer mogul, he decides this guy is so shitty that even he thinks he deserves to be punished.
Akagi's attitude is just to explain why he's always unflappable, because he literally feels dead inside UNLESS he's risking his life.
