What went wrong? Also, why is Xenia's documentation such shit? Clearly the emulator works to some extent because I've seen people running games on Youtube, but there's not centralized list of what games work, and everyone is running weird nonstandard versions to play specific games. What can be done to fix Xbox/Xbox360 emulation?

I think so. I only played the tutorial on RPCS3 so far but it works very smooth so far. Hoping I don't run into issues later on. I played it on my PS3 originally.

I played the whole thing in rpcsx3 with a 2080 super and it was solid the whole way through, the guys working on that emulator are magicians I swear, really looking forward to MGS4 being fully playable
has anyone figured out a good workaround for the pressure sensitive face buttons used in the PS2 version of MGS3? the best I've heard is binding the axis of your analog triggers on a controller to reflect the intensity with which the circle and square buttons are used, but I don't know if there's a less awkward solution, maybe I have to dig out the old dualshock3 and reinstall SCPToolkit

is getting into retroarch worth it? every other emulator is easy to set up with good results, and when i search retroarch in youtube all i see are tutorials and that shit puts me off
i just use epsxe with gpu core 2.0 because petes open gl fucking sucks, it lags games a lot

vita emulation is still babby, they only got p4g in game with some graphics at the turn of the year

It's a bit unintuitive at first but it's not that hard to learn.
The only thing I don't really like about RA is it struggles to manage large collections. I still use it for the godly shader support but I use Launchbox to launch cores instead of the RA interface.

Retroarch UI is absolutely fuck awful. Legitimately one of the worst UIs I've ever used on any piece of software, period. However, I'd still recommend learning it if you want to play PS1 games because Beetle PSX HW is by far the best emulator out there- miles ahead of ePSXe- and it only runs on Retroarch.

Depends on what you want. Mednafen/Beetle handles almost every game I've thrown at it with the default settings just fine but it only supports native res last I checked. If you want to run above native resolution you have to mess with other less stable emus.

I feel creating playlists is absolutely essential to the experience. It speeds up the process significantly and not difficult to understand.

What do you mean? It's the same for every emulator. You download the core, you load the core, then the ROM. There you go. Or as I hinted at above, you scan your Saturn ROMs folder, it creates a playlist and then you assign the core to that list so you don't have to load core and game seperately anymore.

It's too small on my 4k screen. It can probably be fixed, but after trying all the themes, I actually like the OG best. How come people hate it It's so easy, clean and straight forward. Box art/screenshots look nice.

Also, the PS2 version is the best because it has different missions. The 360/PS3 version were outsourced to a third party team.

Yes. The PS3 menu is shit. Also, it's unusable with a mouse, which is what I'd prefer to use to set up an emulator. I use the controller to play the game, but I'd rather use a mouse for dicking around in settings. And also, settings are spread around in way too many locations and it's impossible to find what you're looking for half the time.

I guess these are all comfort features but I wish we could at least emulate the Xbox 360 port of the game which tweaks the controls to not use that damn hardware function
once you get used to it, carefully controlling movement speed with the scroll wheel is pretty good to play with, only Tarkov and I think Squad bring back this feature to my knowledge
just to bait someone into answering your question, I'll say that epsxe is the best PS1 emulator, ZSNES and Project64 are also the best emulators for their respective consoles
