ME2 is a 4/10 at best that murdered a franchise in its infancy and completely gutted its IP
Here's a better example.
Solid 8/10 game
You just had this big dramatic cutscene with an emotionally charged reunion and betrayal where you try to convince your friend to join you, even after he betrayed you, but his loyalty is too strong and you're forced to fight him as the final boss-
and then the boss fight itself is he's just a regular enemy with a oneshot kill melee attack and invulnerable except when an AI NPC disables his shield for short periods of time. You just shoot him when its down and then he just dies like any other enemy.
What a massive letdown, most people never even realize the entire arena this takes place in with all the gravity lifts you can ride. Clearly the developers intended for something much more elaborate but it got axed in the crunch.
Special mention for Final Fantasy IX. Fuckin fantastic game and then the final boss is just three forms of instant death attacks including one that just kills all party members whose level is a multiple of x that is such bullshit game design holy shit fuck you fuck fuck you fuck fuck you fuck fuck you fuck fuck you fuck fuck you fuck you
