A mediocre stardewlike

Good

fun at least until they started shitting out those 3ds games

Animal Crossing,but good

Good, but a niche genre where you either love em or hate em.

Stardew Valley has no charm:

>sleazy and seedy underbelly which has liberal tropes such as infidelity, "nigger scientists", and so forth
>disgusting art style, absolutely atrocious
>shitty dialogue
>lame music

Harvest Moon, now known as Story of Seasons, is far superior.

>ethos of Harvest Goddess unites the community
>no niggers
>everyone is pescetarian, eating mammals and birds is bad
>charming art style
>charming dialogue

Everyone who disagrees is going to hell.

Hyped for FoMT HD, even it looks like they did everything they could to make it suck dick.

Only one I got into as a kid was IAWL on gamecube. Max cozy

How’s Rune Factory then? My cousin has Frontier and is trying to sell some of his games

Looks soulless as fuck.

It's animal crossing without furfaggotry, still has a pedophile problem

64 and BtN are the GOATs of the genre. Rest are average to mediocre.

someone tell me why they changed the name

That's a Natsume game.

Rune Factory 4 is the best out of all them imo. I highly recommend Rune Factory 4 Special Edition for Switch.

>Japanese team makes Bokujou Monogatari games
>Natsume publishes/translates games for the west (poorly most of the time) as Harvest Moon
>Japanese team is eventually bought out by Marvelous, who also buy XSEED as their US branch for translation
>Natsume keeps the Harvest Moon name
>Marvelous develop and publish BM games as Story of Seasons
>Natsume makes shitty phone games under the Harvest Moon name

That's a funny fucking way of spelling 3.

Wonderful Life is great.
Getting actual character growth and characters dying across the years is some Grade A stuff.

I loved Rune Factory Frontier, 4 looks too.... old for me so Imma hold out for 5.

Frontier is good, but I prefer playing with cheats that disable the Runey system. Note, I never use cheats. This is one of my few exceptions.

AWL was pretty poor though. There's nothing to do in the town, no events or anything. You've got animals like the goat who are literally useless etc.
There character growth doesn't really make sense either as an 80 year old outlives the protag who has aged a good 40 years over the course of the story.

Animal Parade and Trio of Towns are good too.

Runey's would be fine if either
A. They didn't naturally progress to extinction and instead can only go extinct if you purposefully fuck with them.
B. There is no penalty to extinction, but if you wanna micro manage them you can still get double grow speed.
Gotta look into playing with that cheat tho, Runey's are really the worst part of that game.

Yeah you're not wrong the game lacks a lot of content but it also has a lot of impressive bits like the friendship rewards and other secrets, like the plant you get in the third chapter that makes fruit fusions.
I think it's just a shame because no other HM game has ever really touched on the idea of time progressing and characters dying or growing older.

Yeah, I just remembering doing some stuff on Homebrew to lock Runeys at max levels in all of the areas. You should be able to find out some stuff about it if you Google Homebrew, Runeys, and Rune Factory Frontier.
If you play with Dolphin, it should also be easy to do.

AWL is my personal favorite but it has some serious issues. Most characters (outside of cutscenes that are sometimes a bitch to trigger) have only a few lines of dialogue based on the weather or what room their currently standing in. Though on the plus side, Forget Me Not Valley is probably my favorite location in any Harvest Moon game I love the atmosphere so much. I'm hoping the SoS team goes back and gives it a fresh coat of paint someday without losing a lot of what made that game special.

HMDS was literally the FoMT to AWL. But I hated that game too since it was just buggy and not much fun.

I play on a hacked Wii U so once I have some free time I'll look into it! Thanks user!

Agreed, I saw they did a remake or something of Friends of Mineral Town.

>disgusting art style, absolutely atrocious
Fucking this. Any time I try to get into it, I get turned off by how hideous everything is. The art in that game is deviantart-tier. Normally I have no problem looking past bad graphics or artstyle, but goddamn Stardew Valley is fucking horrendous to look at. It's seriously vomit-inducing.

Yeah, I have HMDS too and it really feels like it was just slapped together without much thought. It's a pain in the ass to progress and collecting the harvest sprites was just unnecessary padding. Which is a shame because it gave the AWL cast some much needed character development. Even if it was just a little.

I think it's supposed to come out this summer in the west. I'm excited to play it but I haven't looked into it too much.

You posted the best game in the series.
SV is SOULLESS

Comeon Stardew ain't that bad, guy clearly put in a lot of soul he's just trying to do it all himself so has some weaknesses in areas.
