It's arguably less safe than MM9 or MM10, but I like both of those games more than MM11. I disliked a lot of the boss fights. For some reason most of the Robot Master fights just rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't like the Gear mechanic, either, or even the aesthetics really (though I'd take how MM11 looks over MM8 or Powered Up any day). It's a great game but it's in the lower half of classic games for me. The lack of Proto Man is disappointing, too.

Not him but 3 has a really fucking awful Wily Castle, and the Doc Robot stages are very divisive. I personally think the first half of 3 is great and it all goes downhill from there. 2 is far more consistent and actually has a pretty good Wily castle (even with some bullshit moments).
