Prove it
Proof to the contrary?
Source?
There are still indie games on steam
>the big exclusive indie boom
Nice joke, user.
>Steam no longer makes cash for indie devs
Good
>indie devs that make uninspired shit games aren't making money on steam
>indie devs assume their "masterpiece" deserves an egregious amount of money
>they're surprised when their game doesn't make money
>post about it on Yas Forums
That's not how arguments work.
list of these good indie games dying in the water?
Dev here, released my game on steam last year. It's better than I expected. Every sale gets a good amount of new sales + wishlists. Shit games disappear, yes. Games with 0 marketing as well, but marketing is just one of the parts of development, basically. You have to make people know you exist.
>indie devs
>Good games
Pick one.
Shenmue III came out and it barely made a splash.
are you surprised though?
>marketing
This is what I'm clueless about. How do I get an idea out there in a sea of bad ideas? Good promotional art? Pay for ad space? Shitpost about it on Yas Forums?
nice try tim sweeney
Pull a gamergate.
use influencers or promote the game with clever ads. if your idea is really good, unironically use reddit or discord.

>>indie devs
>>Good games
>Pick one.
True
>clever ads
And how? Where would I put them? Not like I have a marketing budget.
Reddit does seem like a place to do it. I've seen some indie titles posted there get some traction.
Anyone have that image of the best indie games of the decade
Post "fuck niggers" on twitter.
Make a game that isn't a shallow bootleg of something two+ decades old, no competition there.
you don't need money to make youtube videos
>bad games sell like shit
Why should I be mad?
This. I didn't know about the beautiful autism of rimworld til a discord friend streamed it. Watched him play for 2 days and then scooped it up

>Steam ditches the vetting program, just charges a fee
>Indie devs flood the store with their garbage
>Wonder why their games aren't getting look
>Indie devs start blaming other indie devs and want Steam to do harsher curation
>Steam introduces new smart search features, filters, tagging, and a curation system
>Indie devs bitch that their games are getting lost as people filter out shitty asset flip cash grabs from their searches
>Indie devs demand that Steam runs their advertisement campaign
>Epic Games opens up their store with some bullshit revenue share so they can get some ez headlines

>Indie devs start bitching that Epic isn't buying out their shitty games
Just make a good fucking game you dumb fucks.
