to be fair I just replaced it, fucker went 10 years and was only as bad as about mid-range modern cpu's when I put it away

>DDR3, only quadcore
Nah. Might as well get an 8600k

not quite today but my god what a longevity. I had that CPU for 5 years. Longer then any other CPU.

It's missing all the cool vector extensions that are in the consoles. YOU are holding back the PC gaming industry by forcing compiles to older SSE. I hope you're proud of yourself.

I am.

hello newfag

the only reason its good is because intel let you OC that thing to its limits without needing to delid the chip

All the new ones could outperform that old shitter but you have to risk doing the delid

It's remarkable how small the difference is between something like a 3570k and something even like a 9700k. Intel are just good chips.

Just upgraded this year. I had the Sandy bridge on 5.0GHz and it ran just fine until this year when I upgraded to 4k/VR.

Its almost as if....
Intel hasnt given a shit into actually improving for years

I think I'm good for a little bit longer.

My 2500k/gtx970 combo finally showed its age with a heavily modded skyrim so i had to let go. Now got a ryzen 3600 / 5700XT with 32gb ram. That spec gets me around 10k 3dmark points. Should last another ~6 years.

Upgraded to a Ryzen 3600 last year, it served me for about 8 years.

2600x... yeahyeah

I'm still rockin' an i5-6500.

It's shit and is holding my system back. As soon as I get a new job, I'm gonna get a new system.

>4c/4t
Never gonna make it

>corelets

Rocking and i5 sandy core, still able to run anything released today.

Had the exact same combo, upgraded to a 3600 & 16gb @ 3200mhz last August and upgraded to a 2060 Super this January. The GPU upgrade was nice but the CPU was where I noticed the real difference. I love my 2500K, I think it's insane that I got 9 years out of it, but it was chugging in any game that came out after 2015. If I had to go back to either my 970 or my 2500K, I'd choose the 970 without even a second of hesitation.

>apple now making their own processors

it's fucking over, apple wins again

I got an i7 4790K, had it for years.
