Based coop is jank but fun
Zombie levels are good. The pseudo-regenerator enemy levels are good. Everything else, mutant soldiers and ganados with guns, bosses, etc, aful. "Puzzles" are just send your partner over to a switch and then hit another switch for her.
Counterattacks, pulling off weird slide maneuvers, and melee combos are incredibly satisfying.
They should have just sold the Mercs as a spin off title. A console sequel to The Mercenaries for the 3DS. Nobody wants to give 6 Mercs a try because
>"LMAO! 6 SUCKS BRO! I'LL NEVER TOUCH THAT GAME CAUSE IGN SAID SO"
>posting bait this abvious
not even gona give you (you), try harder next time
lmao
Only Sherry/Jake's campaign was enjoyable with a friend. They should have used the inventory system from RE5
It has its moments
*RE4
I have a bunch of hours in 6, and its inventory system still fucking puzzles me sometimes.
Yes.
Only good for the pregnant mod tbqh
why is it so fun
really, I don't get it, why is this game so fun
when I stop playing it I'm like 'well this was fun' but then I don't play it for a couple years and I'm like 'fuck I really wanna play it AGAIN'
though I absolutely adore the new remakes, I wish they didn't completely give up on this formula, it's so hard to get 'good' co-op games these days
just give me exactly that with refined movement and less janky controls and better melee system (all characters should have their own jake style and more) and god I'm not touching another game for two years
the controls aren't janky and the movement is fine enough. Melee combat shouldn't be the focus either. I think there should be more Melee specialist than just Jake, but making everyone Jake would ruin his specialty. The game just needs bigger and better level design to make use of its combat system. It all shines beautifully in Mercs.
>controls aren't janky and the movement is fine enough
this game is one of the jankiest tps I've ever played, movements are way too floaty and the qte system isn't nearly as responsive as it should be
moving around should be fluid and responsive rather than feeling like an early ps2 game, would be fine if you were going for a true survival horror but we all know the game shines for its non-stop action the kind you find in the mercenary mode
>would ruind jake's specialty
and then the point is that jake is the only one with a specialty, not only is his melee system not nearly as developed as it should be, my point is that this isn't enough, either give different characters different 'specialties' or just give a good melee system to all of them, you can give them different types if you want I don't care, make some of them more focused on using melee weapons (knife for chris, stun baton for sherry etc etc) but it's sad not being able to easily push/kick away a zombo that's getting too close unless he's in a critical state or your melee weapon is already out
Truly based game when it plays to its strenghts.
When it tries to pretend to not be a fun action game (Leon and Ada campaign) it blows ass sticking you into walking sections and “puzzles”.
Sad this gameplay wont come back at least in some other game. Shit was really satisfying
>Not responsive
Wrong, the controls are super snappy.
Fitting that the game that is a tribute to Ada is as trash as she is.
Sacrificing my Piers self for my bro playing as Chris is a top co-op moment of all time.
t. chris
>YOU'VE DISTRACTED LEON FOR THE LAST TIME, YOU BUG-EYED, CORONA BITCH! HE WILL FUCK CLAIRE AND HE WILL SECURE THE REDFIELD LEGACY!
Never gets old
is that an actual cutscene?
It would have been ballsy, but if this were the last mainline RE game, I would have loved it if both players were prevented with the choice to inject themselves with the virus to save the other.
It's one of the better games in the series for sure. I enjoyed multiple play thrus with friends and strangers in its prime. The worse part is Ada, but it was short and nobody does that story.
Yeah, one of the chase scenes if you don't make good time Chris and Piers can catch up to you and Game Over
...with a friend.
>Online Multiplayer Mode Achievements
>RE6 has like 20 fucking multiplayer modes
This game is jam packed with content, and a majority of people only did one of the 3 campaigns.
I agree that responsiveness isn't the problem, but there is definitely a feeling of the timing being wrong in some way. It still feels good after you start being able to counter and instantly kill those leaping zombies every time, though.
