Talk me out of it, Yas Forums. I already know what will happen. I'll sign in, make a new character, get bored by level 25-30, unsub. It happens every time.

Download a pirate server version, save yourself the trouble AND money. WoW died for me after cata, I just play on a cata server to kill nostalgia from time to time.
Okay. I just got it too after quitting mid BFA. I used some of the Bnet balance I had to play a bit. I got maybe 6 days in before I wanted to kill myself. The game is fun at first, you do all the new content and it just feels good. But eventually you bottom out and run out of shit to do and you find yourself stuck in chore mode again. You stop logging in because you wanna do stuff and start logging in because you have to keep up with the chores.
The PvP is a one shot fest.
The Corruption system is a major annoyance, worse than titanforging.
PvE is just doing the same fucking dungeons you've been doing for close to two years now.
Raiding in WoW hasn't been enjoyable since Wrath.
There is nothing here user, it's a game 100% built to keep you playing without actually providing a fun reason to do so. WoW is digital crack, it's a hollow experience that leaves you frustrated at the end. The people playing are likely only doing it out of addiction. Gotta keep up with that legendary cloak grind. Gotta make sure I collect more battle pets and mounts.
Just don't dude, game is trash.
I'm gonna probably resub anyway when Shadowlands comes out. I do what everyone fucking does when a new expansion comes out. I resub, play for a few weeks, get bored, quit, and bitch about the game until the next expansion comes out. I did the same shit with BfA but BfA was garbage.
I actually did enjoy Legion and played for several months when Legion first released.
daily quests ruined everything
It did? Isn't that what veteran players sign in for? They log in, do daily quests, and log out. It's like playing some shitty mobile gacha game at this point.
Just listen to favorite WoW soundtracks, remember good old times and move on.

At least that's why I do when I feel like resubscribing.
I will also play Shadowlands. I just want a fun expansion I can enjoy, but now that wow is dominated by discord faggots I don’t think that will ever happen

Shadowlands is 6m+ away and BFA is possibly the worst expansion in wow's history
it takes over a month of heavy daily grinds of utterly brainless content once you hit 120 to have a character that others will actually invite to interesting content
wait for shadowlands and play on frosthold or evermoon until then
What is a good cats server ?not op.
pirate and play warcraft 1-3 and cry yourself to sleep remembering how things used to be
I kind of like the idea of just starting a fresh character and leveling it to 120 and doing content and shit until Shadowlands comes out but I don't think I can stick with it. I tried leveling a fresh character and got to like level 28 and was super burned out and bored. I tried leveling by QUESTING ALONE and it's so fucking boring. I tried avoiding dungeons even though you'll level way faster in a dungeon.
Also it sucks if you don't have heirloom equipment to get bonus xp. In a way it gave me something to do each day since I feel like I never have anything to do. Come home from work, play a few hours of WoW, log off, repeat, etc. It does get really monotonous though. I don't understand how people play it everyday and not get bored.
Apollo 2 seems to be the best cata server from what I can find on r/wowservers
I never played there though
It still needs to be more diverse.

Some autist sent this to all the wow devs
> When expansions roll out everyone is kept on the ground until the .2 patch. This creates a chance to make the world feel alive and interactive. In this text Instanced Content will be referred to as IC and Over world content will be referred to as OC content.
To make the OC engaging and fulfilling you have to buff the worth of it.
Materials. Ores, skins, cloth and herbs. These are things that IC content can't provide. The materials themselves can't be boosted but the gear they can be turned into can be.
There should be blue crafted items which can be obtained through farming the mats and getting the recipie. There should also be epics which need a bit more effort to craft. The blues should land you somewhere in the power of heroic dungeons and LFR. The epics should be put at an ilvl between normal and heroic raids. Some crafted items should also be at the same level as the heroic gear. There should also be cloth, leather, mail and plate sets which can be used by DPS, Healer and Tanks.
Making this change to crafted gear is a way to boost the value of gold which can be used to buy this high ilvl gear and at the same time boost the value of materials.
This creates a new way to gear your character through the OC and it lets you contend with people who stick to IC, but if one wants to reach the highest level one would still have to join mythic raiding guilds or advance high up on the PVP ladders.
WPVP will naturally appear as the two factions will have to compete after the sought after materials. This gives the oppurtunity to further help those who enjoy OC by boosting the rewards you get for killing other players out in the open world. PVP gear should be obtainable reliably through world PVP. This will not only help OC players gear up, but it will pull IC pvp players away from their BGs and into the OC. To pull the IC PVE players the crafted gear which can be useful to them needs to earned from competing in world pvp.
These are three types of players. The OC players, the PVPers and PVEers. They need a way to organically interact with each other. For this the solution is two zones where WPVP is encouraged. In these zones you will have control points that your faction can work together to cap. By holding these points every ore, herb, cloth and pelt be worth double in the area around the control point. This will have to be more lucrative than simply following a efficient node-route or AOE-farming beasts/humanoids so the gatherers are drawn to these points. What will cause the PVPers to contest these control points are the rewards which you can buy if you've capped enough points or killed enough players. This gear will have to be at the same level as a normal raid tier to give a good reason for the IC players to dwelve into OC.
The PVPers needs a reason to come back to these zones daily, weekly and even monthly to keep them alive. This will be achieved by having bi-weekly, weekly and daily challenges tied to the WPVP zones. These challenges paired together with the base rewards for killing other players and capping points should be enough to be a smooth way to gear your character. To further encourage the PVP players to stay in the OC is to boost rewards for going on kill-streaks and capping several points in a row should lead to bigger and bigger rewards.
I haven't played since Cata. What's changed?
PVErs still need a reason other than mats to participate in the WPVP zones. As the gear is strong enough to be viable in Heroic raids the PVErs will want to be able to farm mats, and the most sufficient way to farm mats is through capping and controlling the points making them have to integrate with the PVPers and OC players. The PVErs need a way to progress their character further through these WPVP zones, and you do that by tying two pieces of the crafted set to the zones, by rewarding either material or the recipes for engaging in the WPVP.
The OC players should also be dragged into different content, and this is done by the PVE-IC where additional materials and recipes are dropped by bosses.
This which I have outlined here will seek to bring more players together, create additional ways to gear your character and make the overworld feel alive.
Boosters, boosters everywhere.
It's more or less the same game though. Except 5ppl is now a real alternative to raids.
>There are many journeys to be taken in Azeroth, and if you’re in the middle of one, or just looking forward to starting a new one, we’ve heard your plea for a little more time. Due to the popularity of the Winds of Wisdom 100% experience buff in Battle for Azeroth, we’re extending its benefit through to the release of the Shadowlands pre-patch!
>All players in Battle for Azeroth will gain an experience buff called “Winds of Wisdom” which will increase experience gains by 100%! (Bonus includes Starter Edition and Legion players.)
>Players will also be able to take advantage of this experience boost while still using their favorite heirlooms.
>Now available through May 18, you can also exalt in the Impressive Influence 100% bonus reputation buff in Legion and Battle for Azeroth.
Goddamn, now I might actually resub. It won't feel like such a damn slog trying to level a fresh character from level 1 to level 120 if they're giving a 100% bonus xp buff on top of heirloom bonuses and 100% reputation bonus as well. And it says it goes all the way until Shadowlands pre-patch, so that must be a ways off.

Don't even sub, Tencent doesnt deserve the cash
You should preorder uwu
I get it from time to time but it dissapears after some time.
Maybe Shadowlands will pull me for a month. But right now Im not feeling it.
I don't give a shit about the vulpera and mechagnome babies. I literally have always played human in WoW and that probably won't change. My other race is usually Blood Elf. I've tried other races but I don't care for most of them.
Tauren has a super comfy starting area but I don't want to main a cow. I like Blood Elf's starting area, even though the fanbase hates them and Yas Forums calls them gay. Human is usually always my go to race.
That's the one I have been eyeing thanks user.
What absolutely killed any desire for me to resub the last time I got a 10 day free trial was managing my bags and bank slots. I have stockpiles of now probably obsolete mats in my bank full tabs, items that I have to manage and move individually, and no can't vendor trash it all because SOME of it MIGHT be useful or min-maxable at the AH, except playing the AH is another chore in and of itself, and then remembering that all my 10 other max level alts (alt whore) have bags similarly as full, and I can't actually do the leveling quests and you know actually play the game because my bags are too full that I won't be able to accrue current content items, forcing me to spend all my tome item managing and selling shit on ah instead of having fun leveling. Add all the other minigame bulllshit like transmogging, reforging and professions and fuck this game. They should have made it free to play years ago.
theyre going to completely change the way leveling works in the next expansion so itll probably be easier to get to max level then anyway
That's probably true. There is going to be a squish that lowers stats and makes the max level like 60 again or some shit I bet. I guess it might still be better to start working on a character now, rather than when Shadowlands goes live. Granted Shadowlands gives you a free 120 level booster, so kind of defeats the purpose when you can just fucking boost straight to max level, though I think boosting kind of defeats the purpose of attempting to play the game and level up normally.
Im in the exact same boat, I never get past level 50 as I get so bored quickly. The itch is real now though just so I can RP as a Mag'Har...Hellscream did nothing wrong.
i just got pathfinder yesterday at 9am, went on to my lvl 110 from legion, and with flying+100% xp buff+ war mode xp buff, i was lvl 117 by 12pm. it's pretty insane how fast you can level atm. if you're gonna play shadowlands now's a good time to get you're toons levelled. although pathfinder will still be a grind especially if you've not played bfa at all. i was already revered with all reps but the 2 new ones, so it only took like a week of dailies
pretty sure shadowlands leveling will be even faster
you'll only have to do a single expansion
