The Souls series in general is shit. This is a series that rides on its presentation and atmosphere considering the gameplay is kiddie shit that only actual retards think is deep or interesting. Sekiro is the only worthwhile game Miyazaki has ever made.

Playing DS2 for the first time ever myself and while it's definitely more frustrating and feels less polished or well designed than 1 and 3 it's still a wonderful game. Just got to the poison mines area and fucking hell does it seem pointless and annoying to carry on but i'm still loving it too.
The amount of reliance on tertiary items like pharros stones and the depetrification twigs is also frustrating and seems like a shitty mechanic but still it's an enjoyable enough game.

Maybe it's stockholm syndrome. The bleakness of the world our character lives in is being recreated in the experience of the player of the game. Maybe loving was too strong a word but I'm still enjoying.
