How is that game coming along, friend?

why am I like this
same except me it's when I'm drawing/sketching something
Same except with music. Maybe not a full month but it's the single biggest "time spent on no progress" for me.
How to make a magic item shopw more appealing/interesting looking without using parallax images and with basic tiles?
It's just not going to look appealing as long as you have that "rpg maker" aesthetic. It just looks cheap and generic unless you draw all your own assets.
it's not
The more tiles I add to my survival crafting/building system, the harder this is getting to manage. I'm pretty close to giving up.
I have like every single area, character, ability, enemy, attack, and plot point planned out
I just need to actually make the shit
Started a informal booklet about my vision for our game. Things like inspiration material and visual worldbuilding.
Also finished a simple GDD, 12 pages only.
coming up slowly, now i need to work on enemy tracking and path finding
Didn't do shit for 3 months and now when I open up my project everything is fucked so I'm probably going to restart (for 20th time)
not gonna make it
i failed so it's back to the drawing board again
it has the rpg maker aesthetic because it''s made in RPGMaker.
pretty slowly.
need to draw a lot of shit but I keep getting distracted by my vidya backlog
That does not invalidate what he said. Plenty of games made in RPG Maker have completely different aesthetics to that. Either put some effort on your sprites/tiles or accept your fate as an eternal generic.
those book shelves look like they should be one tile back
It has that aesthetic because he's lazy and using stock assets instead of doing work
How do u know
bad...
It doesnt matter if its shit. If you are learning from it, is not wasted time. Besides, if you are not happy with what you are making and you wanna fix it, thats even better.
that's the same thing as saying 'dude just make your own engine.
Finished a bunch of dialogue sprites for dungeon level, going to move onto greyboxing the rest of the levels today.
no it's like saying dude don't just make a game out of premade unity assets
Oh yeah I forgot that in order to draw a 16*16 sprite you first must make your own Unreal Engine
what if I'm not learning from it though
then you need to take a step back and rethink your approach instead of bashing your head against a wall over and over, figuratively speaking
No, that's mean, you need to learn how to draw, how to use shade, how to construct object, how to basically sprite anything. Which would take forever.
no one is going to play your low effort piece of shit game
It would only take forever because you're a pathetic whinny little baby that refuses to learn. Could be done in a year if you actually tried.
>lmao u do it den
I'm going for the memepoly aesthetic instead.
I've been sharing progress on social media and I could always get a decent amount of attention but ever since this damn chinese pestilence started it's been a serious struggle to gain followers. Is anyone else going through this shit because it's seriously demoralizing
I don't refuse to learn, I can't.
Why yes, I play RPGM games exclusively. How could you tell?
Exactly you refuse. If you can type and breathe you can learn.
you could ask the folk /3/ for criticism and aspects to improve on
No. I'm dumber than a rock.
