Playing a Trader online is supremely comfy, when it works. They keep finding ways to make it impossible to maintain your resources, whether it be server instability, bugs stopping you from building camp, bugged animal spawns, etc.

That's all I wanna say about online. RDR2 itself is a damn good time. It's like the west's answer to a JRPG. Good and long, lots of buddy bonding moments, easy gameplay so you can just chill out and get into it for a good few hours before bed.

Has anyone made an RP server for it yet like the GTA 5 one?

It's by far the best open world sandbox they've ever done and one of the best video games ever made, but okay.

I skipped out on GTA V because the driving physics felt like a downgrade from GTA IV, and red dead redemption was 10 years ago and objectively a good time until they patched the heatseaking throwing knives in online. I loved red dead revolver as a young lad, too, so I don't feel bad for buying this one. I'm like 12 hours into it and I've only done a couple missions

When playing single-player, make sure to take your time and stray from the beaten path: there are many secrets scattered throughout, and while some are one-and-done, others are very involved. The first tutorial chapter is easily the worst part of the game, aside from a brief interlude in chapter 5(?).

One thing that is weird about RDR2 is that while all the men look relatively handsome and realistic models the women all look kinda gross. I noticed this more or less on all of Rockstars games.


Anyone know in general ,why this tends to be the case? It's probably the only criticism I have of the game, is it that making women models in game engine is difficult

I think its because they are usually a afterthought, specially in RDR2.
You're in the majority of the time interacting with males for the quests and side activities, and when you are fighting the enemies are overwhelmingly male.

Women are just not usually into interesting criminal activities

Just because games from the same developers have similar mechanics and themes that doesnt mean they can't be interesting games on their own.
I've enjoyed both RDR way more then any other Rockstar game. GTA is actually kinda boring and I ever only liked vice city and IV.

Fair enough, the setting alone can make a big difference. I never owned a console and don't buy games with drm so I wouldn't know.

Add some dungeons, melee weapons, a perk tree, and replace guns with spells and it would become the perfect TES game.

I dropped it because of the clunky truck controls. I would have liked to have gotten into it but they need an alternate movement scheme like in the witcher. Also why the fuck does he walk so slow and then sprint top speed? Those are the only 2 movement speeds there are. I hate walking through the camp so slowly.

Is this one of the only games from the West in recent memory that truly, unironically lived up to the hype? Usually when a new game comes out Yas Forums is overrun by relentless shitposting and contrarian takes but the only thing I remember when RDR2 came out were people asking what other media out there is Wild West that they can consume post-game. Is there any other studio in America or Europe that catch up ?

Quick tip that I wish i knew before finishing the game: do those hunting and perfect skins and legendary animals as soon as you can. It will be worth later on

Yea the game's great. Make sure you stop in I think late chapter 3/early chapter 4 to get a major chunk of the side quests done. Those are the most peaceful chapters and best for doing any side stuff before everything goes to hell
