I’m playing Phantasy Star IV now.

dunno if it counts as a jrpg but i finished octopath recently
pretty good, but that last fight not having a save point before it is absurd

Why would it not count user?

i'm not sure
the dialogue didn't make me cringe as much as other jrpgs except for ophilia saying "your excellency" every 2 words of course so i guess i put it in a separate category in my head

Based. Great game.
Finished Labyrinth of Touhou 2, slowly replaying Lunar, going to try playing through Wizardry Gaiden 4 tonight. If anyone knows of any classic (pre-EO) first person dungeon crawling JRPGs that are worth a play I'd greatly appreciate a recommendation.

finished torna in preperation for xenoblade DE, way better then the main game wtf monolith, its like a mix of 1 and 2 with its own flair
best part of season pass, still have classes so I'm putting my SMT4 playthrough on the backburner rn

SMT:SJ on muh DS emulator. It's alright.

Yas Forums tricked me into playing Ys 8.
It's ok so far.

I'm playing FF7R and between its endless empty corridors and the bossfight being interrupted by cutscenes all the time resetting all the gauges even when you've just staggered the boss, it sucks a wall of dicks.

>Yas Forums tricked me
did you really expect nu-ys to be good

Just beat King's Field III. Defeated Seath and got my waifu resurrected. Overall I'd say I liked the previous two games more. I think because they were specifically aiming for this to be some kind of ending to a trilogy they tried to make it more "epic" and the game ended up being more high fantasy. The atmosphere wasn't as opressive and it had less of a "metroidvania" like quality to it. The levels were more open fields and there was both less backtracking and it didn't really feel as rewarding. I also maybe used like 3-4 weapons throughout the whole game because I found such a great one early on, while in the previous ones I switched gear all the time because I'd constantly find new one.

Currently replaying TWEWY and playing Etrian Odyssey V.
My fucking man. One of my favorite JRPGs.
Have you tried Shining in the Darkness? It’s pretty great.

I'm playing the Japanese audio. What about you

Original FFVII on the Nintendo switch. First time playing after playing the reboot. Way better game.

What makes it better

i played with eng voices (they were bearable except for ophilia), that probably added to it not feeling like a jrpg in my head

You might want to play Shadow Tower now, to complete the PS1 games before moving on to the PS2 ones.

>Overall I'd say I liked the previous two games more
4 is my favorite by far. I even have a physical copy of it.

Just finally finished Xenoblade Chronicles last night. Gonna jump right into XC2 tonight.

I'm playing Neptunia 4 Goddesses Online. I kind of like the game but these boss fights are just fucking tedious and boring. I kind of wish I had started the first game instead.

Playing both Final Fantasy 6 and 12

good i want the japs to create more jrpgs where you can create your OC
or just jap games in generral where you can create a custom character
on top of my head i can only think of code vein and sword art online

I'm just done with Ys8 i cant believe i got memed into playing this mediocre game

Dragon’s Dogma?

I've got FF7R and DQXI S on the go right now, and I have FF XII and P5R ready to go when I'm done. Reckon I can juggle 3?

finished FF7 remake. bought Collection of Mana, Trials of Mana, and Sakura wars today, but I've been distracted playing Resident Evil

1. snapper battle system- due to the lack of gacha shit they made the whole driver and blade switching alot more versatile then the main game, just has a better flow
2. better engine- didn't make my switch feel like a potato when it was running
3.the plot- really found xeno 2's setting to be relatively meh until the half way point, I get why they did that, as a sort of bait and switch, but torna handles the war shit and makes it cool from the get go while having the blade body horror shit
4. while the side quests get forced on you, they were much more developed then non blade quests in 2
5. Torna probably my favorite titan next to morr ardane
its like a bite sized xenogame, stumbles in a few places but considering I got it for like 30 bucks with the season pass, it was way better then it had any right to be

>What JRPG are you enjoying right now?
Trials of Mana and Dark Souls 3, both on PS4.
Mana is pretty good. Kinda ''basic'', but it does not bother me. It's kinda easy, even on hard mode.
Dark Souls 3, I'm playing a sorcerer run. The game is a fucking nightmare compared to sorcerer in 1 and 2, I'm 6 hours in and I killed only 2 bosses, I don't have enough mana, I literally have to replay certain from-bonfire-to-bonfire areas 3-4 times to find the easiest route, I know I'll have to go to my local blacksmith few times to ''separate'' HP and FP flasks depending on the situation, and the game runs like shit on PS4. It's still fun, tho.
>Have you finished any JRPG during this quarantine?
What quarantine? I work. As a matter of fact, I'm typing this from my workplace. And I recently finished FF7R, will wait for a month or two and then I will start hard mode.

On disc 3 of lost odyssey. Not sure what I'm gonna play after I finish it. Maybe Final Fantasy VI or Super Marip RPG

struggling through SMT Nocturne on hard

I will, but I want to play the first Armored Core game first. Shadow Tower, especially Abyss actually seem to me like the most interesting ones because of the weirder setting so I'm looking forward to those the most.
Will do eventually, heard multiple times already that it's the best.

How many hours did it take you? Also many people complain about the structure. How do you feel. I've gotten 4 travellers so far.

74 hours including the final uber
I did not 100% it, though I did all quests including sidequests

considering getting it with season pass as well. might watch gameplay.

i can't read
the structure felt fine I guess? there was a lot of stop-start-stop-start in story beats though, as I'd finish up one questline only to go finish off another minutes later.

I'm playing FFVI for the first time myself.
Play SNES with the Ted Woolsey Uncensored patch.

Finished FFVII OG a couple of days ago and now playing through FFXV right now. It's pretty fun desu

playing Grandia HD and NNK1

fav party to have out for a battle? most useful classes? I have prim, Cyrus, merchant girl, and knight man (can't remember names)

>I want to play the first Armored Core game first
Nice, as an AC fan I can only hope you like it.
It's really rough by today's standards, same with PP, but MoA onwards the games get a lot more bearable.
Prepare to have
