Life is about having fun

why?

Because you play shit games.

Because most video games aren't fun anymore.
t. Replaying Oddworld and Half-Life because they're actually fun.

Fun is not fulfillment. Find some meaningful passion to take up your time and keep video games as a pleasant hobby will keep you from feeling empty. Video games alone won't do it.

This. There's nothing wrong with current games. There's mainstream shit and cynical cashgrabs though but those have always existed. I spent the last 5 years of my life playing objectively awesome games both recent and old but the magic is gone.

You're an adult getting lost in a theme park. You imagination doesn't play along anymore. You're an adult. You can't pretend being a hero saving the world or a divine architect anymore. Your pretend-rainbow world is crumbling and you're seeing your real, neglected, self beneath the cracks. While you levelled a thousand meaningless virtual avatars and grinded artificial numeric skills beyond counting you're still a scrub in every important aspect of real life.

You not having fun anymore is just your subconscious telling you to stop wasting those precious years you have on earth killing time with children's toys and making something out of yourself.

100%. Even just learning or doing something productive for an hour a day makes playing videogames more enjoyable when you can. I got to the point over the last few years where I felt nauseated booting up any game without having focused on myself in some way first.

everything in moderation. Why would you assume that something fun can be fun all the time if its the only thing you do? you need variety in your life. Sleeping is nice too but if I sleep for 24 hrs I feel like shit.
