This shit is free till the 1st of May and the dlcs are down from about 40 eurobucks all together to 12, how barebones is the game without them?
Total war shogun
>Talking about video games on Yas Forums
Kill yourself shill.
I never bought any of the DLCs and put like 250 hours into it, there's plenty to do without them
Total war Shogun 2 is the best Total war game and all total war games after Shogun 2 are horrible. also you dont need any of the DLC its just extra shitty factions
man ive sunk like 500 hours into this and still find myself reinstalling it often.
absolutely wonderful game
i’ve only done the beginner tutorial atm, any tips? is it hard? haven’t played a strategy game since i was 6
Fall of the Samurai is virtually a different game altogether since you go from Sengoku period warfare to gattling guns and ironclads. The early middle ages DLC is shit, though
Fall of the samurai is fun, but none of the DLCs are necessary
>a datechad in nioh 2
>mfw now i can be a datechad in a shogun 2
Make up for campaign map mistakes on the battelfield, if you know what you’re doing you can consistently beat a larger AI army
the only DLC you want is the blood one, makes the battles more realistic. you'll also of course want Fall of the Samurai which is a standalone expansion and by itself one of the best TW games
the base game is too repetitive unit wise to bother with DLC unlike IMO
Save the money for DLC and buy FoTS, Rome II or Attila instead. Maybe Napoleon or ETW if you're interested in those time periods. ETW is really great, but it feels very barebones compared to the rest of the series as its the first game on the warscape engine. it still stands up as its the only semi global TW game and the unit/faction diversity. Napoleon is a much more polished scaled down version of ETW focused on Europe and a bit later time period (mid 1800s)
Rome II is by far objectively the best game in the series even with its issues. A few mods and its absolutely incredible
The game has a lot of difficultly levels but I do recommend turning on battle realism.
Also download Darth Mod. It polishes the game and adds a lot of quality of life stuff.
Pro tips:
Get trade resources by sea route early.
Yari Ashigaru are amazing, their spears eat cavalry.
Bow warrior monks are very strong.
Speaking of cavalry only katana cavalry for protracted engagements, just charge repeat for big damage.
Building management is important, build training dojos at places with corresponding world map resources. eg. Weaponsmith + Training grounds = Gold melee damage buff.
I know ranged is king in Warhammer, but what about this game?
Get the scabbard mod in the workshop for proper samurai kino
warhammer is for fucken nerds. truly nothing more lame than fantasyshit
history games are chad games
Quick, Yas Forums! Medieval 2 or Rome 2?
Are TW games similar to RoTK or Nobunaga Ambition games?
Based and One-Eye Dragon Pilled
date no daichi are fuckin scary
>Avatar conquest
>Bow General
>Max horse archers
>Rest of the funds is all light cav
This is fucking hilarious, i haven't lost a single battle yet
>Also download Darth Mod. It polishes the game and adds a lot of quality of life stuff.
>Finally stop sucking enough to win a few battles
>Conquer a few towns
>Christian rebellions fucking everywhere
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY CHRISTIANS, JESUS CHRIST STOP IT
Are any of the other total war games worthwhile? Says all the historic titles are 75% off, save three kingdoms. Rome II is 15 euro but the dlc still comes to about 50 eurobucks. Attila is 11 and the dlc 30.
Wrong, Rome II is good and three kingdoms is arguably better than that
On a budget shogun 2 is still a great way to go because these games are expensive with sega's dlc kikery
It's more like Civilizations with tacked on shitty battles where rock-paper-scissors of unit composition plays a bigger role than actual strategy, but make CAfags think they're the next Hannibal for playing them
>Rome II is by far objectively the best game in the series even with its issues. A few mods
lol
you might as well say Rome II is the best game if it were a completely different game, if you're defending it by using mods
ANY game that needs mods to become good is automatically a shit game
I'd say so although I cant vouch for atilla since I've never played it.
It you've never played a TW game before just start with a cheap one and see if you like it. Concept stays the same with some added features in newer titles
I agree
Rome 2 is shit, and I hate the changes that stuck like the retarded province system and that every army needs a general. Shogun 2 was the last good TW.
all TW games have mods so its a moot point. it just has more mods than most if not all others because overall its the most popular TW game so it can be even better with mods
>there are people who doesn't use yashigaru matchlock in a pika and shot formation
It really depends if you are interested in the history and unit/play styles.
Shogun 2 is its own kind of thing
FoTS/ETW/NTW are kind of similar in ways due to gunpowder
Rome II is the best and Attila is a different spin
I haven't played 3K so I can't say, I'm not interested in chink history
DLC same depends if you are interested. For example Wrath of Sparta campaign in Rome II is really cool but by default there isn't a lot of unit diversity (like Shogun 2) and if you aren't interested in this greek history and hoplite warfare you won't be interested.
Rome II will give you the most hours for sure.
Is Rome 2 still pozzed with amazons?
