How the fuck do I git gud? Nearly every difficulty I get my shit slapped.
How the fuck do I git gud? Nearly every difficulty I get my shit slapped
Have you tried playing Necropolis?
>Military>>>>Economy (better military means clearing more of the map faster which means getting more resources. Tier 7 is usually worth rushing by the end of week 1)
>Always take Gold from chests
>You can always use more heroes - use them to ferry troops around (start with 2-3 to bring reinforcements from home to your frontline main hero, eventually you can be a crazy slav and use one army to clear multiple areas by chaining hero movement)
>Always take Logistics
>If you have empty spots in your army, split your tier 1 (gnolls, pikemen, etc.) into stacks of 1 to fill up the slots - use these spares to block and protect your archer, or to take retaliations for your bigger stack of infantry
>Try to identify the most key buildings and unit upgrades (Marksmen for Castle, Grand Elves for Rampart, Wyverns for Fortress, etc.) and grab them while working towards t7
Those are the most basic bits to gittin gud that I can think of off the top of my head, in rough order of importance. If you really want an easy time, just roll Necro and rush Vampire Lords, enjoy clearing out everything a few days in and running around with hundreds of skellies (and later on, Liches).
>few hundreds of skellies
*laugh in 4000 skelebros*
Be a sl*v
Always keep moving, the moment you sit in your base to 'gather your army' is when you've lost the game.
Hire more heroes, take gold from chest, build creature generator buildings.
Try squatting.
>(and later on, Liches).
How does one do this?
Cloak of the Undead King. Hilariously overpowered, gives you an option to raise liches instead of skelebros with your necromancy skill.
Acquire more skeltals.
If you really want easy mode
Against the AI? Get town portal. Use at least three heroes. Hire any heroes that give a resource over time.
You can also abuse diplomacy, dimension door and armageddon if you really wanna be a fag.
I looked it up and it says its a combination artifact.
You can combine artifacts?
There are just a few combos. They're all overpowered as shit and were added in an expansion. The cloak is just the easiest one to get because it only requires three artifacts and they're not too rare.
It's a combined effect from wearing them together
Wrong.
It's really not hard user.
1. Don't waste time, don't sit around in your castle or anything, always be exploring
2. Don't lose units; try to minimilize your losses throughout all simple fights, and you'll have an army before you know it. To do it make good use of your archers and of waiting in the fights. Use ressurection if you can, fry your enemies with spells, anything goes.
3. Some skills are simply inferior to others.
Scouting? Useless. Eagle eye? Waste of a slot. Estates? Maybe on a second hero you don't use for fighting.
The best skills would be all of the magics, though Earth magic and Air magic are superior imo, since you get ressurection, town portal, implosion, slow from the former and haste, dimention door, fly, chain lightning from the latter. Always max out your wisdom. Logistics and pathfinding is always very good as well. Offensive, armourer, archery (if you've got 2 or more archers especially) also very useful.
Necromancy and diplomacy if you want to go into faggy meta.
Yeah, it something from Shadow of Death. Some artifacts can be combined into one powerful to give additional bonuses, but don't think too much about it, on most maps you will never make an entire combined artifact, simply because the artifacts needed won't be present.
Yeah, I said it wrong. It is an additional effect from wearing them together, on top of what they already do. I meant to say you don't need to do anything like forging them together or shit.
Play Necropolis or the Phoenix town.
Heroes 3 is a bad game to start on
Play Heroes 2 its way more simpler and has better graphics
Isn't heroes 2 even more bullshit?
ok boomer
Things I recall:
Heroes 2 has less balanced armies. I think they even officially intended them in three tiers as better for small, medium and large maps
Damage spells are more effective since creatures are weaker
Game mechanics are more unforgiving: full damage shooters, full field fliers and no wait button can decide the outcome of the battle if you make a mistake.
Heroes 5 is far superior with expansions to Heroes 3.
Immediately leave and never come back.
Hello Ubishill, how does it feel to like a soulless game trying desperately to capitalize on the success of the masterpieces that New World Entertainment made? Fuckers didn't even keep the universe from the original games and ditched the whole point of the M&M franchise alltogether.
Its not superior, but it could be if spells worked better
I almost agree with you. Almost.
The balance is much tighter, and the fights look really neat in 3D. I also really like the towns and the concept art for the units was really cool. It had took a few steps away from, for example, what people traditionally thought of as an angel and went a little more experimental with it.
That being said it's not all good: pretty much everything else is inferior. The music, the story, the setting, the mapscreen (and everything on it), the writing and the overall snappiness is reduced to accommodate a more realistic 3D style.
5 is fun to play, but 3 is objectively better.
I liked the skill system in 5 more.
I will agree that a lot of the unit DESIGNS were really really good. I like how every unit had upgrade-paths and how most of them had something special about them (not just different stats but each upgrade had something very unique they bought). I'd actually go as far as to say that HOMM3 plays a little bit less interestingly because it lacks the unit variety that HOMM5 does.
>upgrade-paths and how most of them had something special about them (not just different stats but each upgrade had something very unique they bought)
How does that work?
Well you had your basic succubus unit for Inferno. She was a basic shooter, with high ranged damage but pretty shit everything else. She was unique because she had ranged retaliation, and not everyone had that.
Her upgrades sere either Succubus Mistress or Succubus Seducer. As well as the quirks from the base form, a Mistress could fire chain-blasts on every attack linking her basic attacks to nearby enemies. Kinda like a chain-lightning she got for free and she even retaliated with it. Great for fights against humans or undead who had ample numbers. A Seducer on the other hand didn't get chain-firing but instead got the ability to hypnotize an enemy stack. This meant that she was amazing for heavy-hitting armies that bought few but powerful units. You could essentially take an entire enemy stack and they'd be forced to either kill it or be killed by it. Super useful.
HOMM5 was full of cool units that played very differently.
