Why does this make Yas Forums seethe so hard?
Why does this make Yas Forums seethe so hard?
Because they're a bunch of jealous losers who wish they were talented.
Because official Pokémon has been shit for over a decade.
Seethe? This makes me want to play it
because we"ll never get to play it
i don't know what you're referring to, but if you're asking if i think the art looks entirely soulless, i do
aping a color scheme and tile size doesn't evoke the feeling of a game being made back then, it's just a shitty coat of paint
that art is made without technical limitations, the original art was made with technical limitations
that aren't wasn't limited, it was imitating, it chose to look the way it did, it wasn't succeeding in spite of having to look that way, and that's why is the very definition of soulless
shut up fag
what is this? looks cool
oh this is new, so this is something being worked on?
that bike is fast as fuck
Yas Forums recoils at the sight of anything good
No one is seething, just really tired of the endless NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN mockups everyone knows will literally never happen since no AAA company is going to use pixel art ever again.
Anyone can make a mockup image. What takes actual talent is managing to make a full game with that, and actually finish it. AM2R is the only one I can think of that got finished. And it would be even more impressive if they made it into an original game instead of a fan project.
Why is there a piss filter over the entire game?
Why does this feel GSC levels of cozy?
What rom is it?
This is pixel art and is not video game related.
When will it be played
you're fucked
You're not as smart as you think you are, esl.
What in OP's picture is something a GBA would have a hard time doing? The only thing I can grant you is ROM size, nothing more. Yet even that cannot excuse Gamefreak's laziness in not implementing sweet backgrounds in battles, depending on the area you're in.
name of the rom?
Boku no Pico
Emulating the washed out colors as they appeared on a dim Game Boy Color screen where half the colors were just black or "white" (which was actually a greyish green color that was easier to see).
I think it looks good
Removing the piss filter would be the biggest improvement
Fucking THIS
Strong disagree. That's a big part of what makes it look the way it does and gives it that hint of nostalgia.
When does it come out?
The GBA didn't have infinite memory and sprites couldn't just be as big and detailed as they wanted.
Find me a game on the GBA or even the SNES that has sprites of that detail level and resolution and with that many on the screen. There's nothing less than 32-bits that looks that good.
because it's fake/will never be released and we've been starved for a good pokemon game since bw2
>at art is made without technical limitations, the original art was made with technical limitations
Incorrect
The GBA had a limit of 128 sprites per frame, with each sprite being up to 64x64. The GBA could easily support the graphics in OP's picture, know-it-all.
Just google boku no pico for more info bro
It's too busy. Everything has to move around and feel alive. And no, adding an 8-bit look to it isn't creative. The newer gens starting with VI already push the nostalgia button, why bother with this game?
Dude, any Square game in the SNES had that level of detail. Of course, the resolution will clearly be different, but that only limits how much of that detail is going to be displayed at once, and has nothing to do with the detail itself.
shows more how OP could be possible by the pixels of the tiles, and how it is limited by art direction, not the system.
Again, if you want to win the argument, you need to pull ROM size and be done. Because, barring the GBC's limitations, you won't win any other. SNES, Neo Geo, Genesis had amazing graphical detail.
What are the quintessential toastercore games?
What's the secret to making an in-game town feel like an actual town, instead of a collection of buildings that happen to have NPCs?
not being a shit designer
What's with all the pointless notifications? The fading textbox looks like ass. Everything else looks nice.
a lot of things. i think the first thing you would focus on in pokemon is dialouge, because it's easy to produce and proportionately adds a lot to the game
Pokemon was never good.
