How long did it take for you to beat Sword Saint Isshin?
Just beat him today and it took me a total of 6 hours. Literally took a nap and came back in order to finally beat him.

I don't play games with shit controls, so I don't have an answer for you.

The game doesn’t have shit controls, and you can change them anyway. You just suck.

That's about how long it took me. Once I was getting to phase 2 consistently I took a break and figured the spear shit out

>took me a total of 6 hours. Literally took a nap and came back in
same

Probably 4 hours spread over 2 days.

This thread will be a trainwreck of dick measuring btw. I’ve never seen a community so insecure about their own ability to press buttons in response to visual stimuli.

This game is garbage

I beat every boss by running at them, doing that spinning move that always does damage even if they block and then running away before they hit me

It takes about 3 years but its the only way to beat the game and this game is so tedious. The pacing is way off a normal souls game.

Seriously, its constant, incredibly spongey minibosses. Give us some fucking exploration before i have to grind out some stupid fucking ghost for 3 years fuck.

Easy but tedious.

It took me a collective of 6 hours in 2 sittings. I'm really bad at the game. On NG+ I got him first try, somehow.

about two minutes because I used a trainer

>really bad at the game
You can find people saying it took them more then 300 tries if you google it. That's probably about average, really.

>only way to beat the game
What a fucking shitter

4 hours. First step was getting to Isshin without taking a hit from Genichiro. Second step was finishing Isshin 1st phase with at least 6 gourd charges left. Third step was mastering the mikiri timings in his 2nd phase while identifying and taking advantage of the really small openings he gave you. Last phase never took me more than 1 minute because lightning reversal makes it really easy.

On my 4th playthtrough (to get the ending I was missing) I managed to beat him first try and that was pretty gangster.

Don't recall, I was pretty drunk.

Two hours. I was high as fuck and by the time I beat him I was parrying about 95% of his attacks, even his stupid gun he pulls out. Felt satisfying to hear him say "Do it, Sekiro!" before his execution.

Youre an idiot if you think the game can only be beat with lame tactics. I beat most bosses being aggressive

About 4 hours iirc, it was his 2nd phase that was really fucking me over, especially his infinite poise/hyperarmor when starting up some of his halberd attacks, they were bullshit. But once you figure that out and play carefully he's not that bad.

>identifying and taking advantage of the really small openings he gave you
or spam the fuck out of firecrackers and tanto

An half-hour or so with the demon bell. About 10 tries. It's been a while.

Beat him today, took me about an hour. I had watched a no damage video so I could see his moveset, though. Don't know if it counts as cheating, I didn't want to waste my time trying to reach stage 3 before seeing them myself. The most difficult thing, if you can believe it, was doing the lightning reversal thing which I hadn't really used in the whole game except the divine dragon.
Did a victory lap until gyoubu and holy shit have I gotten better at the game. I could deflect anything any boss or miniboss threw at me. Beat genichiro at tutorial, first resurrection at lady butterfly, then killed her right afterwards.

I don't get why so many people complain about his gunshots. Just deflect four times, it's really easy.

Literally me, 6 hours straight then went to bed and when I woke up beat him 2nd try

i think I spent like a half hour on him after bashing my head against the Demon, and then I went to bed. I got ready for Isshin to take like all day or whatever and then he died in like 20 minutes. Fun fight, but I really dont understand how people have such a hard time with him. I have a harder time with the Bull and Demon of Hatred desu

Id say between 4 and 6 hours like most people here. Mostly had to just practice phase three to the point where i felt comfortable with my counters, cause i didnt do a lightning parry before this last fight and i wanted to slam him with it this time around

15 minutes

About 4-5 hours before I learned that Mist Raven was extremely useful and how to perfectly deflect attacks.

Afterwards on the hardest setting it was about 2-3

like 2 hours and half maybe 3.
I mean most of that was just getting fucked by his retarded chip attacks. Once I found out that you can just run away from them/ use umbrella he was honestly really easy.
DoH on the other hand, took 9 hours, he is just retardedly hard if you don't just sprint around him clockwise. After I learned that trick I killed him like 1st or 2nd try.
And that's really the theme of this game, basically every boss has a gimmick you're meant to abuse in order to win and winning without that abusing is just not possible, the only gimmickless fight is true monk maybe (but even that can be trivialized by just holding block with your back to a wall when her illusions were summoned).

I'm also assuming that everyone is using demon bell? I mean I'm not even trying to sound like some epic gamer or something but I was actually disappointed with the game's "difficulty'' being more strategy based (aka you MUST read tips online or waste hours cracking the code yourself) rather than execution based (what people would normally recognise as difficulty in action games).
I mean I decided to just download a ng+7 savedata for the lulz to try the hardest possible content the game has (kuro charm+demon bell on max ng plus) and I was severely disappointed with how easy the game is after you beat it once. I mean now, even after having abandoned the game for months, if you suddenly lock me in a room and tell me to kill DoH on any difficulty after having beaten him once months before, I'm pretty sure I, and any average Joe could do so within 3 tries at most.

I think it took about five days, with 40-60 minute sessions. Definitely felt like putting hours into a hard as fuck boss, but at least it was fun

You don't even need to deflect, the posture impact is so low that even basic blocking is fine. I think people mostly bring it up as a meme

Unironically 6 tries. Now owl on the other hand....

first time around, 20 minutes
charmless bell, good 5 hours

I didn’t even have umbrella when I beat the game unfortunately

So these are the posters who routinely shit on Sekiro....

>You don't even need to deflect
they do a shitload of damage on charmless so it's a good idea to learn to deflect

sorry user but I think you might be retarded

>basically every boss has a gimmick you're meant to abuse in order to win and winning without that abusing is just not possible
G I T G U D

If you think this game has shit controls you must not play anything, and definitely have not been gaming for more than a couple years.

Seriously, how the hell could anyone beat the game in such a lame way? And the bosses must’ve took forever, some bosses are much easier to beat when you just break their posture fast.

Bosses have weaknesses/gimmicks that can be exploited but you don't have to. I literally did not bother with prosthetics at all in this game or any online cheese and it was honestly just fine, none of it was required. You fucked up reading tips and stuff. Also if you're not gonna experience the entire boss fight without tips and gimmicks why the fuck did you buy/torrent the game? That's literally the content that people pay for, if you abuse stuff you're just wasting your time to get some hardcore gamer creds online, which is retarded.
