Final fantasy 12

50% off on steam, is it worth picking up?

Probably not

yes

Seems like the only competent FF port on steam.

you cant pick it up its not a physical item

Yeah its good

No. Jobs are boring and largely indistinguishable from others. Combat is boring and plays itself. Most of the areas are a slog, side quests are all shit, and the story is horrible.

Arguably one of the worst FF's.

i bet you love vii

Is basically the best game ever made so at least give it a try.

if you have other games in your backlog don't do it, othwerwise if the stars are aligning then do it. just my opinion, not to let sales dictate your life.

It's not worth money. Just pirate it, you literally have to mod it to fix how bad the remaster was.

there's not much of a story to this game
it's kind of hollow feeling

>plays itself
A handy guide to XII naysayers. If they mention how it 'plays itself', discard their opinion.

Did we play the same game or were you only half paying attention?
Who was the protagonist, and who was the antagonist?

I wish characters would change clothes when switching jobs oh well
I'm having fun with IZJS

To be fair this game have SO MUCH fun stuff people that have a hard time paying attention just overlook the main storyline.

>is it worth picking up
They got rid of Denuvo, added respecs and multiple gambit sets per character, and mods exist. It's easily the definitive version of the game.

If the game had the FFT art style I would be a fanboy instead of the guys shitting on it at every opportunity.

FFXII is genuinely one of the best art styles of the series. It was made by the same team as FFT and Vagrant Story and the latter was already the most beautiful game on the PS1. They optimized the shit out of the PS2 to offer a lush and rich world with the memory available and give characters a pastel look while still focusing on facial animation. This is why characters, despite having a lower polycount than FFX, are much more expressive and have five times the amount of detail.
Square designers literally went on record saying that the reason they don't port these characters to crossovers or new games as much is that it is too much work to replicate Yoshida's work since the amount of attention to detail is staggering.
It's the reason why any FF after it features very simple designs, mostly coming from the same material (Lightning, Noctis, Cloud, etc)

Yes

If you like Final Fantasy in general you'll enjoy it and for 50% off I'd definitely grab it while you can

it is one of the greatest games of all time in my opinion

Yes; it's a good game. The improvements in the Zodiac Age make the game much better.

You tell me

Any ways to play this without the forced job system? Can I respecc?

I don't think you can opt out of jobs, but Respeccing was added to the PC version in the latest patch if i got shit right.

Yes, they recently updated it so that PC has the feature where you can talk to Montblanc in the Clan Hall and respec.

You can respec any time

One of the few PC ports that is done right by SE, it's a great game.

Fucking nice. Buying now thanks

I was impressed by Lasha's clothes waving because of the wind in one of the cutscenes

legit yeah;they fixed enemies, textures, gave you the option to speed up fights;job system works WAY better than the universal board system, and it's fun as fuck. I had a run going 8 hours in, and reached wall demon;might restart my playthrough, but idk. need to go back to northern giza planes to collect the reflect materia, and I might have to go do all those hunts from the boards. I had a pretty decent run going, because I haven't grinded anything and got to demon wall at level 10-12 party.

No. It's legitimately one of the worst JRPGs of that generation. It's a trash fire.

How is this 10yo shit still that pricey even 50% off? I fucking swear SE are even more Jewish than EA and Fatlus combined
