They survive this encounter but the actual ending of the game hasn't leaked yet. Last we know Ellie bails on Dina because she can't let things go and still tries to go and get her revenge. But there is a couple of levels after this in the leaked list where anything can happen.

The first one was a somber but hopeful redemption story, with Joel and Ellie finding solace in their wierd father-daughter relationship.
