Love gen2. No other gaming experience has ever compared.
GSC > HGSS.
pokemon is a game for babies
SS > HG
For me it's Gen 3 but I respect Gen 2
lmao no
Post your favorite tracks
Either from the original or remakes
what's the most western building? i don't remember it.
Radio Tower
>Ywn tear through the game with your bro Typhlosion
>Ywn learn that there's a second region to explore for the first time again
>Ywn feel the satisfaction of beating tough bosses like Whitney's Miltank, Morty's Gengar, or Claire's Kingdra again
Imagine being this fucking wrong

Remake is good too but I love the grittiness of the gameboy sound chip

That's the Safari Zone, it's only there in the remake.
How come other Pokemon games don't have little events like this?

thanks
I agree. I don't understand the appeal of the remakes at all, the only thing people seem to praise is the Pokemon following you, I don't see how that is a big a deal. Alot of things in the remake just seem worse, especially the music, they absolutely butchered it and I don't like how the trainers look in the new artstyle.
HGSS is still better overall, but I can agree that the color palette and music was better in GSC
Isn't Gen 2 the last one before they start getting dumb with eggs and breeding and day/night cycles?
How does crystal run a 3ds? I've been thinking about it.
Gen 2 had eggs and day/night cycles
Totally fine. I played it on a DS.
It’s on the eshop. It’ll run fine
Following Pokemon, some of the music remixes are really good, Kanto actually has stuff to do in it now besides the Gym Leaders, Battle Frontier from the Sinnoh games, Pokeathlon, gym leader rematches, can get Kanto and Hoenn starters, Kanto legendaries are back in their original locations etc.
Why haven't they done the visit another region during the postgame thing since? I'm pretty sure that alone is why gen 2 is so fondly remembered.
Cool. Haven't played gen 2 since silver and I've heard Crystal is one of the best. I'll go for it.
Perfectly fine. It comes with a special 3DS app to use local wireless as a game link cable, so you can trade like the old games.
Crystal also makes it so you can do the Celebi event.
Keep in mind you can't get Ampharos which really fucking sucks
How are you guys enjoying all the leaked prototype stuff?
>can't get Ampharos
This is actually making me reconsider.
If only they gave you the GB player at the start.
Too much work and Pokefags will buy the next new game regardless of the effort put into it
you talking about Spaceworld? shit was leaked two years ago
Trying to remember when the Odd Egg from the daycare locks in its Pokemon to be hatched, so you can keep resetting until you get an Elekid.
based, currently playing the sacred gold rom hack and it's a ton of fun. found a shiny sudowoodo which I'm now grooming to be part of my team. gen 2 is peak comfy, specially due to its soundtrack.
There was a new leak
Not a lot of people are talking about it though
Here's something neat youtube.com
How's Clover?
best rom hack?
Peak soul right here my nigga: youtube.com
In addition to , an expanded dex, additional Johto routes and a new Safari Zone, Game Corner is a fun mini game now instead of being pure gambling, incorporates the improvements from Crystal including the Suicune side quest, has some really cool side content including Arceus lore and a conclusion to Giovanni as a character, and a far smoother difficulty curve.
HGSS are just some of the most content dense games in the series.
The fuck is that at the bottom?
Because for Gen II Iwata stepped in and plugged Kanto into the game using magic.
Iwata is no longer with us remember...?
Fuck meant for
>a far smoother difficulty curve
Last I checked, it's the exact same shitty curve as the original games due to Ecruteak being a split path. A two-level difference doesn't improve anything about it.
I'd rather replay Gen I again then try to play through Sw/Sh without wanting to commit sudoku.
What were the islands in the south again?
The Gameboy (Color) games have an appeal to me because of their massive simplicity. I think that's why I like a lot of GB games in general and have never stopped coming back to it. I'm playing the GBC version of DQ3 at the moment and might replay Crystal afterwards.
Saying Johto has a bad difficulty curve because you can go to Lake of Rage early is like saying Kanto has a bad difficulty curve because you can tackle the midgame in any order you like.
Anyway, was really referring moreso to Kanto, which smoothed out the level curve by buffing the Kanto trainers. It isn't perfect, but it's far more reasonable than the originals.
Please God, take me back.
