Destiny 2: Collapse

>The previous leak for Collapse was from an employee who has not been involved in the process of development for Collapse for nearly a year and posted what they have remembered. I'm here to not only further elaborate previous points made but also provide further insight into the development of the upcoming fall expansion.

> Firstly a few aspects of the previous leak are correct albeit slightly outdated. Europa and the area previously described as Finality are still in development. Darkness subclasses, however, have been dropped in favor of fine-tuning currently existing subclasses. By this, I mean that we will be providing further options in how you play your Guardian.

>The previously mentioned Winnower is not the physical incarnation of the Darkness, but rather is its agent comparable to that of The Emissary in terms of their roles. The Winnower will be the final boss for the raid, the name of which is still currently being debated. Said raid will actually start in Unknown Space, before concluding in Finality.

>Once the first fireteam completes the raid, Finality will unlock for all players to explore. Currently, there are four encounters in the raid one of which will be a non-boss encounter like The Vault in Last Wish. Within this encounter, a new raid mechanic called Exsanguinated will be introduced. This mechanic will also be prevalent in the final boss encounter.

>Development for Collapse began in the summer of 2018. Like the previous leaker mentioned, Collapse was initially intended to be Destiny 3, however, our split from Activision and our new IP has made the studio come to the conclusion that continued updates and expansions to Destiny 2 would be better for the long-term.

>continued updates and expansions to Destiny 2 would be better for the long-term.
No. 2 is fucked.
Start from scratch. It's all fucked.

>Asides from the new story and raid, 4 new strikes are also being launched. There will be a strike on each of the new destinations, as well as Titan and the EDZ. There are no updates to Gambit or Crucible, asides from sandbox changes for the latter. There will be a mix of new and returning exotics. A new exotic sword called Final Shape will be released. Dragon's Breath will return.

>As stated before Calus, Mara Sov, and Eris Morn are major characters within the expansion. Calus will reveal his true colors, although I doubt that will stop players from going into his Menagerie. Mara Sov will provide the introductory quest for players, during this she'll reveal her plans on how to stop the Darkness. Eris will once again act as a guide to the player, be their voice of reason. The Drifter is also planned to be a major character, with the results of the allegiance quest taken full weight.

>The Veil, as stated before, will be the next enemy race. As it stands there are six units within their ranks. There are currently no solid names for any of these units, and their in-development name relates to chess pieces. Their elemental shields will be Arc and Void.

>Collapse was initially intended to be revealed during E3 2020, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic that plan was unfortunately scrapped. Because of said pandemic development for Collapse has slowed down but is still going. We still expect to release the expansion sometime in Fall, but I can't guarantee a September release.

>Collapse will still be revealed this summer, with the current plan to drop the teaser trailer on June 8th and a full cinematic trailer on July 6th. Initially, we intended to invite major Destiny content creators to the studio to play the first mission of Collapse, as well as try out some of the exotics. Once again due to the pandemic this was canceled.

more like Destiny 2: Prolapse

>I hope this provides further insight into what we have planned. I made this post in order to ease some tension off of the player base. Everyone in Bungie is fully aware of players' frustration with the current state of the game. As developers and players, we completely agree. While all of this wasn't intended to be talked about until this summer, I felt it was necessary that players knew what we were cooking behind the curtain.

>Stay safe Guardians, and see you this fall.

They are still making content for this shitheap?
Who is even playing it? Who is buying it?

I thought this garbage died like 2 years ago.

So is destiny 3 not happening or what

100k on steam and probably more on console

Who cares?

I swear to god, I want him to show up so badly.

who

Stardust has to be completed in 8 months. That is the code name for their next garbage expansion.
Design is weak. You get a new power type. Trying to introduce the pyramid space demon shit and introduce darkness power to split player base.
They are so under water right now don’t expect it to be decent. Expect shadow keep level of incompetence.

The protagonist of one of Bungie's earlier games, Marathon, which Destiny is implied to have lore ties with

What is even the appeal?
It is the most generic skinnerbox shitshow that there ever was, are people stupid?

probably not happening any time soon, maybe after PS5 or so

There are still people playing this trash? how many reskins of the same gun do you have to collect before you get tired?

Just fuck off already. Nobody cares about destiny or bungie anymore. Their game is shit and they are shit.

I think because of the way they've set up development and promising to continually deliver content, they're a bit fucked and rebuilding Destiny again for D3 won't happen because they don't have the time and resources to do it.
That said, Bungie has been leaky previously, Halo Reach and Destiny and a lot of expansions were leaked early. It's possible this is a leak, but there's nothing hugely surprising here.

Destiny is fucking shit lmao.

Destiny Too was a move in the wrong direction.

I agree that it would be best to start from scratch, but then the only reason 2 exists it's because of contractual obligations with Activision when they wanted a new game every 2 years. It's perfectly understandable they wanting to build upon D2 instead instead of making a whole new game.

How about they actually make even one goddamn game instead of a bunch of big open fields with pretty skyboxes and zero plot.

The Destiny universe is retarded garbage, who even gives a shit if the whole goddamn solar system exploded, what the fuck would anyone be missing.

What lore ties it implies?

>still using p2p multiplayer
lol

Nigga, the lore is actually fantastic, it's the game part that's jarring.

Oh nice 2 Bungie leakers posting on Yas Forums what are the chances.

Fuck this game and fuck the cancerous general filled with manchildren which refuses to die

I believe that Bungie still got it. Forsaken and the Dreaming City felt like what Destiny was supposed to be all along based on that old GDC presentation. But then they had 2 other studios and Activision money to help while all of Bungie worked on Forsaken. Now that they're alone they'll never be able to pull something like that again.

Among other things, they mention Bernhard Strauss, a character in Marathon, along with MIDA.
And they also mention Battleroids, which are a thing in Marathon

>The previously mentioned Winnower is not the physical incarnation of the Darkness, but rather is its agent comparable to that of The Emissary in terms of their roles. The Winnower will be the final boss for the raid, the name of which is still currently being debated.

This line alone reveals this to be bullshit. All we know of the Winnower points at it being an eternal entity that has always existed and oversaw the creation of reality itself, probably innumerable amounts of times even.

Not even Bungie is so bad at creating a narrative that they would downgrade such an entity to something the Guardians can kill.
