That would be a shame if the fungus zombies aren't in the game. The best parts of the first one were where you were wandering around some courtyard or whatever looking for fungoids while some ambient plucky guitar music played in the background.
Did people actually play the game for the story and human encounters? To me it felt more like a comfy exploration game. Seems like the sequel is going in all of the wrong directions
