The fast forward button is a god send in this. There's so much fucking filler. I skipped through a good few confidants on Royal since I didnt think much of them in the original, and a good chunk of the original story bits, and it still took me 107 hours to finish.

Then why play the game at all? That's kind of on you.

It's not worth skipping in Royal, they actually fleshed out the story more...even if everything now contradicts itself.

Persona 3-5 are visual novels with occasional simple dungeon crawling. If you're not interested in watching poorly written cutscenes so you can pretend to have friends, you shouldn't bother.

You know it's bad when you use fast forward to skip all the dialogue and you're still sitting there for 10 minutes. Then they add little clues of what to do next buried in it and you have no idea what the fuck you're doing after.
