It's not the plot. I'd go along with it if it was done right but it clearly hasnt.

The character is shoehorned in, I didn't even remember killing a doctor saving Ellie until it was explicitly stated, so some nameless 3 second npcs kid wants to kill the two main protagonists is ridiculous. Leaving out the she "figured out who it was" is weak as fuck.

Could have at least had Joel and Ellie progress down a darker path and attack a camp on bad intel or something and that's how we're introduced to the manhead we play as halway through who would then have motivation, a logical reason for knowing who Joel is and possibly even our sympathy if Joel does some sketchy shit during the attack which would soften the blow when we play as them.

Speaking of which you switch to play as her/him/it literally right after she kills Joel for some bs reason pulled out of thin air?

You're only giving us half a game to play as a character we'll start off absolute raging at given what just happened and you expect us to grow to give a shit and care for the them in the space of a couple hours?

I think the story beats coulda been pulled off fairly well given the right motivations but from what I've seen and read so far I feel they've not only dropped the ball they've booted the fucking thing off of a cliff

One thing I don't get is this game will take place about 20 years since the outbreak. Theres implied to be only thousands of people left alive at best.

So the odds of a trans being the kid of the doctor Joel kills at the end of TLOU then being able to track him down and kill him have to be almost billions to one surely.
