dude looks like someone I can trust I dunno wym
what a dumb fucking character
XD
I havent played any final fantasy game before so seeing this dude show up in the remake made me laugh my ass off at how random it was
He's just one of those albino asians wearing a ni hao cap, why are you trying to discriminate?
It's a good disguise
Cait Sith is an AI robot with self awareness, a sentient being controlled by Shinra. There's no indication that he was a willing participant in the infiltration and betrayal of Avalanche, an act perpetrated behind the scenes by high ranking Shinra employees. This Cait Sith sacrificed himself and gave up his only life to help Cloud and the others and it's tragic that this is so overlooked and misunderstood. This is a significant part of the story and Cait Sith's role is an important one in the narrative. A triumphant moment for him as he breaks free from Shinra's chains and goes out on his own terms, his only dying wish is to be remembered as an individual and not just a robot from a production line. In contrast to this Cloud's begins his fall and loss of will and control as he succumbs to Sephiroth's manipulation.
>a sentient being controlled by Shinra
How? We literally never at any point ever see Reeve control Cait Sith. Does he have a little remote control or what.
It's magic. It's said in some of the official guides. Reeve was probably experimented on by Shinra and can control Cait Sith from far away with materia, hence why he has Manipulate equiped on him when you first meet him.
so the cat's a robot, and the moogle is also a robot, and the cat controls the moogle, and reeve controls the cat, but only sometimes... right?
neat
his theme was dope tho
youtube.com
holy shit the meme jukebox Cait Sith theme in Remake was fucking atrocious
Reeve controls the cat all the time (using magic, see ), whenever you hear him talk it is Reeve who is talking to the party, he just needs to stay hidden. The cat itself however has a certain conciousness since Reeve sort of gave it "life" to control him, but that is passed on to the next model once Reeve makes one. Since the cat itself is too fragile on its own Reeve (through the cat) gave magic to a big moogle robot for the cat to walk on top of and not get stepped on and whatnot. The moogle is just a robot though, it's lifeless.
Why Reeve didn't just start to directly control the moogle itself instead of the cat I don't know. Maybe it's too big for him to control.
who the fuck is this
>she didn't actually steal all of my Materia the last time I did her sidequest
Was pretty surprising, desu.
There's a cap on how much she'll run off with.
Those chibi models are so adorable
I hope the ship disguises will be useable outside the ship
The grunt uniforms are sharp as hell
The lil cat is more adapt in magic than big robotic stuffed moogle.
Source: My head.
>So we have this cat that's a robot. Riding a giant stuffed mog. And his weapon is a megaphone. That he hits people with he doesn't use it for anything involving his voice.
>Also he's being controlled by a ShinRa executive. And he adds himself into your party over objections. Literally just walks into Cloud and makes himself part of the team. No one questions it.
FF7 really was a lawless wasteland of game design
i feel they'll feel the need to explain everything now and point it all out. cant wait for a 10 minute conversation in which cait sith explains who and what he is, how he functions, why they need him and some comments from all party members about this since they cant just let it go.
Cait Sith looked really cute!
Controlled doesn't mean literally with a joystick you autists. Cait Sith is programmed either magically or through his design as a robot to obey commands from Reeve. Reeve doesn't need to physically control his movements, only issue orders.
Having replayed the original recently, Cait Sith is one thing they really need to rework. For years I remembered him pretty fondly, but turns out that was just because I barely remembered anything about the game.
He joins party out of the blue, barely interacts with them, and has less dialog in scenes than fucking Yuffie. Compare that to Red XIII who has shared goal with party right from the start, talks with them and gradually warms up to Cloud.
Lots of things about the story still hold up, but Cait Sith's story arc is dumb as balls.
and then during the temple he has this I cri evrytim moment where he sacrificies himself..and then 2 minutes later hello im cait sith no2 how do you do and no one in your party reacts to his return
Considering the Dresses aren't usable in combat in the first part of the Remake, I doubt it.
We're gonna figure out how the fuck Cait Sith works when he becomes a party member in Part 2 guys. Then we'll finally find out what the fuck the dev team intended when it comes to how he operates.
>shared goal with the party right from the start
Upon exiting Midgar in the original Red XIII agrees to stay with the party until Cosmo Canyon and that's the accepted arrangement, the only reason he stays with the party after that is because of his personal character development while there and Bugenhagen telling him to go with them.
The sillier thing to me is how before that when he steals the temple key he's still like "dude trust me" and if you tell him off he goes "well I kidnapped Marlene, you gotta trust me now."
Then in temple if you still try to say that you don't trust him, he just goes "oh Cloud, you so silly!"
Him walking in when Cloud was beating up Aerith was pretty amazing, though. I had totally forgotten that happens.
>Cloud beating Aeris to a fucking pulp
>young Cloud behind him
>"Oops! This looks like a bad time!"
I fucking love Reeve, his is a special kind of autism.
I always thought why he has Manipulate was because he's manipulating the big mog thing
>the only reason he stays with the party after that is because of his personal character development while there and Bugenhagen telling him to go with them.
And that's fine. Through the journey he has proven himself to be useful, so it's not like the party has any reason to reject him joining them again. They even act a bit sad when they realize that they might be losing him.
Through my replay I really liked Red XIII way more than I remembered. Him going from this guy who is trying to be cool and mysterious to warming up to party, wanting to go see Cloud when he's a vegetable and then being genuinely happy when he's back is really cool bit of character developement.
I always figured he fought similar to Anise from Tales of the Abyss
youtu.be
Cait Sith/Reeve can't see the young cloud, he's only in Cloud's head.
Indeed, Red XIII is pretty great and I'm excited for his gameplay and his character arc in Cosmo Canyon in the next part of the remake, along with Barret's in Corel.
I thought it was because he was Manipulating us to let him join without asking many questions.
I always loved how after fighting the Turks in Gongaga the party realizes there's a spy in the group and Cloud goes "I don't even want to think about that, I trust everyone" when Sith joined like five minutes earlier just because.
>Betrays your entire party
>Haha quit being a bitch bro, it was just a prank. let's just pretend it didn't happen ok
Cait sith was one of the most retarded parts of this game.
>he has hopes for the Remake
>he believes the Remake will follow the original's plot
You're goddamn right I have hopes for the Remake. After how bloody fantastic part 1 was after I expected it to suck balls all those years after it was first announced, 100%ing the game has me hyped for more. Combat's great and the characters are how they all were in the original so I'm fucking excited to play as the remaining five party members and see expanded versions of shit like Corel Prison and Cosmo Canyon's dungeon. The 1v1 between Barret and Dyne with the Remake's combat is gonna be fan-fucking-tastic.

I hope this is still in
That's because you don't understand his design or why he fits into the story. Granted the reason he joins is stupid, but his entire being from a thematic viewpoint is brilliant. He is the character who can relate the most to Cloud, in that they are both puppets, and the death of the first Cait Sith proves his individuality, indeed that is his dying wish, to have this fact recognised, that he is more than a mere slave to higher powers coming at a time when Cloud starts to descend into madness and lose sense of self as he becomes more and more a mere Sephiroth clone.
The appearance of another Cait Sith is misunderstood because, although on the surface he appears indistinguishable, the death of his predecessor shows they are more then mere clones and have the capacity for independent thought and actions. Just as Sephiroth uses the clones for his own ends and are treated as dispensable the clones are people each with their own lives, actions, memories etc. Cloud and the Cait Sith's are identical to Cloud and the Nibelheim residents who are all turned into manipulated clones. Think of the story and Cloud's struggle as a supposed clone of Sephiroth to retain his sense of self.
Cait Sith's very design shows the hierarchy and the levels of manipulation, life, death and rebirth central to the themes of the game, even Caith Sith himself controls a stuffed Moggle as he in turn is controlled by Reeve and Shinra.
Shinra > Reeve > Caith Sith > Moogle
Sephiroth > Jenova > Cloud > Nibelheim Clones
>wahh stop liking things
On the contrary, I enjoy seeing people eat shit.
lol
go be a faggot somewhere else
