The action is deliberately extremely restrained and "unfun" and majority of the rest of the story is an emotional drama and mystery thriller. There's nothing to make a game out of.

Just put in barebones shitty mech combat, a few hallways and room setpieces where your character model walks around and has "dialogue" running through text lines with some other characters with some sparse voice acting. If you skint out, outsource labor correctly and hit the right marketing budget then you can at maybe break even.

You just need to re-release neon evangelion HD dvd collection or something, and shift some marketing budget onto that to make relevancy. Make a bunch of appearances by VAs or artist and publicize it. Piggyback on past successes and then scam all the punters that would buy it.
