I’m excited to see the game being sucessful and have 189682 gays character so i can see a lot of shitposting in Yas Forums and another battle of war cukture with twitter conplaning about gamers and Yas Forums complaining about a fictional gay character that they can choose not to see/play. I really enjoyed the resource scarcity and emphasis on marksmanship, scavenging and ammo conservation in the first one and the diegetic manner that things like inventory management and healing were implemented in, it gave me those real innawoods feelings that are either missing entirely or ruined by poor balance or the snowball effect in most other survival type games and it lead to a lot of sphincter pinching emergent moments during combat.
The Evil Within is the only other game/series in recent that imposed a similarly oppressive resource regimen on the player and it was all the better for it.

I remember in an e3 trailer for the first game, Joel was brutally murdering a bunch of thugs in the most violent of ways. And after every kill, the audience full of journalists would cheer and whoop and clap.
Hatred was revealed later, and all those same journalists went on a moral soapbox against it. The whole difference in reaction to both weirded me out.
