*deletes 4 and Ultimate*
Finally, it's a perfect series again.

Get rid of Brawl too, that's where the bullshit started.

>brawl
ok zoomer

How could anyone who had ever played Smash not like Smash Ultimate? Literally everyone is in this game and then some.

*deletes Brawl and 4, resurrects Ultimate*

Fixed that for you, OP.

Brawl is the worst Smash game except for maybe Smash 64 (and that was the first one and heavily limited by the Nintendo 64).

Reminder that most Meleefags wouldn't even like playing 64. They just see the combos in the game and go "yep, i would enjoy that" but ignore the fact that it actually has the slowest and most patient neutral out of every Smash game alongside only three characters in the game having a real recovery. Imagine an Hbox set except 90% of the top level sets are played like that.

melee is the only good one, and not that sweaty competitive fag bullshit. best singleplayer content, best items, and none of the floatiness of brawl and onwards. 64 was neat, but melee is better in every regard

*deletes all of them and revives Dragon King*
There, now there's no rosterfaggotry and the series is 90% less autistic.

people who say brawl is the worst game are fags who only care about the roster and want shitters like shadow in the game.

Why would rosterfags hate Brawl? It had some of the best newcomer lineups in the series. It's competitivefags who hate Brawl.

4 and Ultimate have pretty big flaws but acting like slow paced trip-fest Brawl is on the same level as Melee is delusional

People who say Brawl is the worst are one out of two groups: Bandwagoners who are incapable of making their own opinion or people who don't like that the game is so floaty and ground movement is almost non-existent

How is it fucking bandwagoning to hate Brawl the game is still the most well received game to this day?

smash ultimate > smash 4 > smash brawl > smash melee > smash 64

it just keeps getting better Yas Forumsros

>Brawl
>Well received

In what way? Nobody says Brawl is the best in the series. It's below Melee, Ultimate, and Smash 4 consistently from not just the "gaming community" but Smash players themselves.

>Has the worst gameplay
>Rosterfagging for it is now obsolete thanks to Brawl and Ultimate
How is it bandwagoning to not like brawl? Sounds like you're some faggoty contrarian. That or you're just a retard who plays multiplayer games for the barebones story modes. In which case, congratulations Brawl wins in that regard. You're still a weirdo though.

Ult shitting thread? Finally something good on /v today

> Casual play
Ultimate > 4 > Brawl > Melee > 64
Literally just whatever's newest lmao
> Competitive play
Melee > Ultimate > 4 = 64 > Brawl
Best tech beats all else, but best combination of accessibility and tech takes second.
> Presentation
Brawl > Melee = 64 > Ultimate = 4
Brawl introduced music selection, had a killer aesthetic, and was all around cool. Shame about the gameplay.

GTFO

But brawl and melee are the bad ones.

Different user but Brawl was well received when it was released, the only people who hated it where melee autists because it wasn't a 1:1 copy of melee.
Honestly 4 was the weakest one entirely because it was on a shitty console (wii u) and ported to a handheld.

>the only people who hated it where melee autists because it wasn't a 1:1 copy of melee.

Or because the game was dumbed down to accommodate for people playing on fucking wiimotes.

brawl is shit, ultimate is close to being good

>Game was dumbed down
Take a shower meleefag. These games where always about dumb fun.

>Games were about fun
Yes that's the fucking point of any game. Taking away what made the games fun in the name of accessibility is cancer. Iwata did a fucking number on Nintendo, thank god they're starting to get their shit together in the new Switch age.

As a total casual, Ultimate is not the best for casual play. That is easily Melee and Brawl in that order. Ultimate has the big ass single player map thing, but it's not exactly sprawling with much. Kind of lost it's charm after an hour of play.

> melee
> casual play
Melee is only superior to Ultimate in the tech or if you subjectively like how it "feels" more.
Anyway, casual play also means multiplayer, which like it or not is least bullshit with Ultimate. Lag aside, it's easier to connect to friends and have fuck-around arenas and such.

>because it wasn't a 1:1 copy of melee.
I don't get this argument. The game was hyped up beyond belief before it released, every meleefag under the sun was looking forward to it. The problem was not because it "wasn't a copy of melee", but because it was basically a soft reboot of the gameplay. The transition we saw between 4 and Ultimate is what meleefags wanted, where it was building upon the previous gameplay and improving it. Brawl is so different it may as well have been in another series when it came out.

>Get their shit together in the switch age
>Nintendo still has boomer teir online

>Take a shower meleefag
ironic

Ultimate does have the worst singleplayer in the series, but it also does feel slightly better to pick up and play, thanks to the spirit board.

I always felt the AI in Melee and Brawl were better calibrated or whatever for single player. Could get a nice challenge out of them if you wanted, or could make them super easy if you just feel like having fun with moves/items and need a punching bag. Computer AI was not as fun in 4 and it was ruined in Ultimate for me.

Huh, I hadn't really considered that but you might be right.

It is interesting to me that this board largely has contempt for casualization and has a preference for older games but make one exception for Melee.

Brawl is much better than Tr4sh, it's unbearably slow but at least it had some amount of depth to its gameplay.
4 and Ultimate are almost divekick-tier in terms of complexity.

Probably more of a subjective thing, could also be I played Melee and Brawl as like a 9-10 year old thru my teenage years and that paints it in a better light. It seemed to me 4 and Ultimate that AI was better primed to like counter or avoid moves. Like an example I seemed to think was happening in Ultimate was like I'd have just put like a movement input in, and before my actual character was really moving that way, the enemy AI was already responding. Really noticeable when falling and trying to shake them off and they'd match like every move before my character had moved it and it was only inputted. Have noticed a ton more dodge roles or whatever they are called in the AI, even down to like level 3's and easy mode since 4 and U. Just makes it not as fun. You can say git gud, and yea I suck at this game. That's why I only play it as casual.
