no content, game lagged like shit on release in Korea, China, Japan, and the United States because their servers were cheap and overworked. Classes were boring and had very few customization options (lmao, no class variety in a maple story game). bosses were gated behind stupid mechanics and were held back and drip fed to hide the game's lack of content. Not a single interesting dungeon, the editor that was originally promised was never released because the devs realized people would spend more time playing editor minigames than playing the actual game and buying micro transaction items.

Timegated content that gave streamers higher dropcahnce.

Usually I would say it's because its a shit game, but many shit games succeed so it's simply because it failed to grab and maintain an audience. Like what said.

They kept dungeon limiting, added rep grinding, and buffed chaos bosses for no reason. Damn shame too because I like the game but the rep grind/ daily quests made it feel like a job and I stop having fun.

>still managed to fail even with a ton of coomer bait
Man, you really have to fuck up badly to do that.

post the gif, you know the one

Came here to post this

it didn't fail, but it didn't succeed either.
if it doesn't pull in the same amount of whales at maplestory1 does, no korean game will ever survive a western port

and that was a fluke made in the birth of free MMORPGs, they're never going to get that chance again.
