Only one I've played is the 4 goddesses online one. It's a pretty decent hack and slash, and the concept is pretty funny. Gameplay's not complex but it's enjoyable.
Four God queens and their sisters dick around in a MMO's beta, having fun, running into parodies, and beating the game's story mode.

The girls are funny, they're cute, and I think you wind up liking one of them more then the others and then you just kinda get sucked into the franchise via that one girl you latched onto.

Biggest thing, the game felt comfy to play. It was a mental cleanser from the stressful titles I've played, and made me feel happy. And the OST is top comfy tier.

This right here is the reason why. I say this having started with the original HDN which by all rights should have ended my interest in the franchise. The characters are what kept me in.

Just play mainline remakes and VII. Maybe VIIR, SeHa and 4GO too if you want something different.

RB 1 >>>>>> Original on gameplay, but reverse that on story
mk2 > RB2 period
RB3 > V
VII and VIIR are different enough that I recommend both, same story however.

Truthfully, if you've played one mainline rebirth or modern game, you've played them all. There are a few mechanics adjustments between them, but nothing huge. There's also a ton of reused assets. It's one series where I won't blame you if you only beat one game and watched playthroughs of the rest.

The side games are where most the changes happen. Even the action games (U, zombies, 4GO) at least change things up thematically between them.
