Bought it previous friday and got 80 hours played since then, it starts to get boring desu. What about you?

Never played it. Also if you got about 80 hours in a week seems to me you got your money's worth. I find it hard to play a game for more than two hours nowadays as I just get bored with them
Non-autistic man's Dwarf Fortress adventurer mode.
Not saying that's a bad thing, just that I am and can't enjoy it anymore.
Put a lot of time into my main group, then started modding, then started doing themed starts. It's an interesting experience and a fun scifi setting, and I'm excited to see how they imagine the world before the collapse.
At the beginning it got me so sucked in it was terrifying. I was legit addicted, spent every free moment with that game.
I think eventually the novelty wears off and there's a shitton of grind and no real satisfying endgoal.
Yeah I kinda got my group filled with Sheks so I'm interesting how it would play with mostly human group, probably better. Scorchlanders seem interesting statwise, because agility is the king stat (right after toughness of course)
it's much more fun and lasts longer if you can properly roleplay it and only save/load when some bug/crash happens, but you need to go out of your way to experience it at its fullest
certain mods make it much better, buy you are always at the mercy of yourself, its up to you not to abuse some clearly broken game mechanics like stealth and stealing.
i recommend playing a band of hives and only ever recruiting hives for maximum fun, just get a squad rolling and go settle in the swamps or some harder place for double the fun
I settled in Vain with my almost-all-Shek squad, fighting beakthings is great training and stealing their eggs is a great way to earn a shitton of money (like 60-100k in one trip).
Now I am trying to create a bigger, better settlement in foglands but apart from that I dunno what to do. Every tech labs are far away and heavily guarded.
I feel like progression in Kenshi is kind of messed up, I probably should've gone somewhere else and now I got into super weird pacing.
well, vain is pretty easy to settle and there is nothing there that's why, it's also pretty far from most interesting places.
you should explore a bit more to find more interesting places to settle, SE is pretty brutal, north is a bit harder than vain but not that much since its mostly cannibals, Stobe's Garden is probably the most fun place to settle
but you will need to get a squad strong enough to defend your outpost while also getting a squad to go explore ruins (unless you abuse stealth, in which case a single dude can get all the cores and money you need without any risks)
I got it, got like 100 hours on it on a mostly vanilla game. One thing I hate is it feels like everything is locked behind base building, which is admittedly really fun but I hate that I have to manage that on the side, when really I just want to explore more.
but there is literally nothing locked behind basebuilding, other than having a settlement and getting invaded it gives nothing to you that you can't get any other way, hell its even easier to get money without ever making a base, sure you probably won't get a full set of masterwork armor/ edge 3 weapons that match without a base but you don't really need those, masterwork armor isn't that hard to come by and you can always go get the cross weapons if you want to kill shit harder
> idk how else i would arm and train squads big and strong enough to explore some areas. sure its probably technically possible but mass producing arms and having a place to sleep after going out and getting fucked up in the world really speeds up the process.
Beakthings were there and that was interesting enough for me at the beginning, and I figured it would be helpful to get at least a house there since you can't sleep at hivers.
My main team (4 characters) have fighting skills and stats in their 40s-50s, my 2 support characters more in 30s-40s. Weapons mk1-2, high/specialist armour (medium).
I've seen Vain,Fog Islands, Swamp, Grid and Crater (two expeditions for tech, but it's quite far), most of Shek Kingdom and a tiny bit of Holy Nation (like Stout and Bad Teeth but no further). Where do you think is a good place to go now? I was thinking maybe north of Fog Islands, the cannibal plains and the floodlands?
didnt mean to greentext
>non-autistic
I don't see any other way to enjoy this game
It's great while it last.I think I did 3 plays. The first two I made a base and recruits many units etc.
The 3rd one was just a team of 5 Robots with unarmed and no base (used city housing). Was easily the best way to play the game.
Have you already made your own kingdom?
See this
You literally don't need to produce shit. Just find the armor king.
My best playthrough easily had no trade skills or base. Fucking mothering elite robot ninjas and shit
About 15 hours for me to get bored
Can you actually do that tho?
I made one outpost in Vain but it kinda sucks because I made it in weird spot and it has no iron around. I am starting building a new outpost in the Fog Islands, north-east near Mongrel and fully move my base there. I also plan to maybe create a one-two outposts with only beds and some basic supplies for longer trips to some areas.
Get some exp training multiplier mods and start building a Hive army to take over the world (kidnap the faction leaders then feed them to the fogmen/skin peeler.) When they lose limbs just give them better limbs. The biggest problem for me is that building a base and training soldiers takes a ridiculous amount of time so you just start laming it out forever.
cannibal plains and floodlands are pretty boring, go south, to mourn then head east to stobe's, the fishers isle down south, stobe's garden, the east coast and the ashlands are all much more interesting, they are also a lot harder
Yeah my first plan was to just have a small group of well equipped and well trained warriors but then I started with this settlement shit and I dunno, maybe it was a mistake, especially since it requires a lot of set up to work correctly.
Tho it was worth to train up armor and weapon makers to 70ish, now I know I can heave any weapon I have a blueprint on in good quality.
250+ hours now into it, i paused at 130 months ago and now i recently recontinued due to corona isolation, martial arts is fun.

Is Kenshi one of the most underated games?
just go out and explore, looting ruins will give you more than enough money, so will the shit you loot from anybody that wants to kill you, you can rest, restock and buy shit in cities, or just carry a couple of sleeping bags and some leather and make some tents and a campsite, the roleplay is part of the fun, if you go and powerlevel the shit out of the game its going to be boring as hell since you can never lose and it will only take time
its very known
I've got liek 400 hours, one of my top 10 favorite games of all time.
super comfy when you're skilled in martial arts to just get into trouble or get enslaved and break out and fuck everyone up
Shit that's so far. Maybe I can check out Mourn and Tech Hunters I guess...?
What is the "normal" or "expected" order to do things/areas you'd say?
Like I spent shitton time in Vain because people said foggy islands were scary but when I got there it was piss easy (compared to beak things and gorillos at least).
I chose the slave start with this guy and trained in the prison dojo for like 85 days, played with him solo until like day 300, definitely a really fun and satisfying experience.
fuck with Sheks, Holy nation, UC places, start uprisings, kill or kidnap leaders, have fun doing these things in different ways, also mods that makes the whole process more dynamic and interesting such as living world, reactive world etc.
Im tempted to do that one day, ive been doing solo runs with my ninjas for training to Holy nation territories to get up some skills, but i have now over 65 guys to manage, next one i think i shall try what you have accomplished, good job.
the center of the maps is basically the tutorial area, N , NE, and NW is probably the easiest areas that aren't the tutorial area, W is boring, E is high tier enemies, SW and S are mid tier, SE is the hardest it gets
Yeah I did such playthrough. Only Hivers and 1-2 robots. Was really fun. I made a base in the fogs and then controlled a group of warriors to wonder around world while having 1 super fast Hiver doing smuggling.
But is not popular at all. I feel like the game should have the popularity of games like Stalker and Mount and Blade.
Hah, neat map friendo
>Crater = death
I dunno, there's "only" Beak Things there, after days of hunting them in Vain they weren't a big suprise, tho they seemed stronger or sth? Or maybe it was maybe me.
I mean it was harsh but I got out of there with all limbs so I dunno.
>this rain is so fucking ugly
It is, I'll never settle there again I think
