The only thing you might be able to point to as an asspull is that he was suffocated to death conveniently but then every fight becomes why did x happen instead of y.

Youre dealing with supernatural characters in a universe with superpowers, maybe the can survive longer or maybe the group of professional thieves with super powers could grab a body a bit faster than normal humans can but either way we're given no time frame for how long hisoka had been dead when he revives.
