The only thing I don't like about Discord is that it runs on electron and that there's no way to access servers via unofficial clients without getting your account banned

There are no more forums anymore so everything shifted to this piece of crap. I was trying to download a mod for Kirby Air Ride and they even have a website, but you must download it through their shitty Discord "server" and stay their if you want to get updates. Not to mention you have to "read" their faggy rules for the verification command.
I also follow the console modding scene and a lot of stuff only happens in Discord servers which are FULL of kids posting some shitty "memes" or non-relevant information. You have to join like 5-6 "servers" and go through them one by one (and holy shit does it take an eternity to load some chat messages). I would rather follow sites via RSS or Twitter is also ok, but fuck Discord.
Also fuck the furry developers with their cringe "relatable" gamer talk. Not to mention this when you e.g. change your password.

It isn't exclusively Discord's fault. People will latch on to whatever platform lets them feel like they're important. For teenagers it used to be IRC or XAT, now it's this. You're always going to have something like this but Jesus Christ I wish I didn't have to make an account just to get help with bugfixing a game.
