What JRPGs are you enjoying right now? Bought anything lately? Any hidden gems you'd recommend?

suikoden 2 or fft?

Suikoden 2 for the greatest villain in JRPGs.

When the fuck is Ys 9 coming out?

Took the ysoriginpill along with 8 and never looked back. Modern Final fantasy is obselete

Ask NISA

World of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 12 are both on sale on ps4 right now should i buy them or should i kill myself?

Why do you consider him a great villain? He just seems like a homicidal maniac without any depth to him whatsoever.

Suikoden.

>tfw lockdown in my country has almost been lifted with all the places opening up tomorrow and only borders will stay locked down for another 2 weeks
I don't want to go back to wageslaving, bros.

Get WoFF.

Dana forever

Final Fantasy 12 is fun if you like the idea of a single-player RPG with MMO gameplay (I say this with no negative connotation). If you liked the Xenoblade games, I think you'd like it.

XII

Ironically, I like FFXII and cannot stand Xenoblade.

All of them?

Best waifu

i don't like xenoblade either
i just don't fucking get it

>thought that Dana is going to be an enormous mary sue
>she is actually downright miserable, the game shits on her non-stop and forces her to watch as her entire species gets wiped out, the best decision of her life was shooting herself in the head so Adol could take care of things

Doesn't World of Final Fantasy have a demo?

Karen > Io

I like Xenoblade, but the sequel really deviated from my tastes.

He wasn't homicidal at all. He never harmed one citizen of Highland. He just hates the City-State.

Only tried the first one.

The prerendered backgrounds still work. I like them.

Why are all turn based JRPGs so fucking boring?

WoFF unironically got me back into jrpgs back when it came out. It's a real love letter to the series that's full of charm and fan service but after you look beyond that what you're left with is a Jrpg with a truly engaging combat system that allows for tremendous customization, strategy and planning that is probably the best the series has seen since X-2 . On top of that there's a lot of side content and extra challenges that really incentivise you to get gud at the systems and build a party comp that can take on the optional bosses and stuff.

XII is also fun but less of a joy compared to World of.

Different strokes for different folks

Nips love playing games as slowly as possible

No idea m8, considering that Pokemon is the best selling JRPG and it's turn based, many people enjoy em

I actually started WoFF years ago and stopped partway because I realized how many FF games I hadn't played yet. Still haven't played 3.
It's not for you. There's no reason for you to ask us that question, as though we know why it doesn't appeal to you.

Absolutely not.

Really enjoying FFV and the flexibility of its job system but does it ever get harder? It seems like everything I've encountered so far besides Gil Turtle is rendered utterly trivial by exploiting the one tool/mechanic they're weak to. No real back and forth.

Any games you'd recommend? Code Vein was my first anime game and I want that level of comfy with actual gameplay

It was already too late when Dana realizes everything. She put all her hope in the boy she dreamed about all her life.

What's up with 3rd Birthday? Is it really as bad as it hear it is?

Man the soundtrack is so fucking good.
By the way, do you guys remember all the decisions to get a date with Tifa? I can't remember shit, but I assume it's just being nice to her and a dick to everyone else, right?

It's just not for you. Don't play em.

Ys VIII and Tokyo Xanadu eX+. I'm enjoying both so far; Ys really gets the sense of exploration right, plus I'm a sucker for "recruit NPCs to get more shit for your base" type games. Xanadu is tropey and isn't for everyone but it scratches that Persona itch if nothing else, and I kinda prefer it to 5 if I'm being honest

>it scratches that Persona itch if nothing else
It has that much slice of life shit, huh?

it does get hard on challenge runs. There's also an elaborate romhack named void divergence, but I haven't played it

Not really. However if you like it, the Bravely Default series are all aping FFV's job system but are more difficult and have a Hard mode too.
