any game?

crysis 1

X3TC

World of Tanks some years ago
also most games actually

Crysis 1
Dwarf Fortress

Pretty much any game? It's really hard to generate balanced load when it comes to games.

Many modern games use multithreading but most work is done by one single core.

defrag.exe

Dwarf Fortress, definitely

Dark Messiah of might and magic

>numbering doesn’t start with 0
ruined

Barbie games

guild wars 2

Yes but it has to be "a" game.

CS:GO

Literally any game 07 and pre-07.

It was assumed at the time that we would have higher and higher clockspeeds and more physics, particles and destructrion simulation in video games but technology went in a another direction, more cores and less clockspeed.

Its why GTA4 and Crysis ran like shit and still run like shit, for realtime applications physics simulations MUST be done on, a single core, its only like now that we're reaching clockspeeds per core equivalent to what we had over a decade ago.

>for realtime applications physics simulations MUST be done on, a single core
this is wrong, and you're a retard

The original Metro 2033 was a horrible mess in this regard too.

GTA 4

Monopoly

Where is Core 0?

>Its why GTA4 and Crysis ran like shit and still run like shit

Jackie Chan

>GTA4 and Crysis ran like shit
Works on my machine.

lol

Arma 3 for sure

what are you trying to prove here? i just scrubbed randomly into it and took a screenshot. 140+ fps with multiple cores over 80% utilization?

The performance is wildly inconsistent
There are drops into the 40s

unironically VRChat

Actually not as true as you might think

Were Sam & Dan houser's mum raped by a PC or something?

>cores start at 1
ithinkiknowwhatimtalkingaboutbuthavenoclueactually.jpg

Minecraft?

100% on svchost.exe

am i autistic?

you honestly think if you label the cores properly the layman would understand it better?

Guild Wars 2

>MUH NORMIES CAN'T UNDERSTAND MUH MEMES
you posting this shit on 9gag for upvotes or something faggot?
fuck off

It is better now than what it used to be, but for years the game was very single core depended. You also get the classic signs of a botched optimization where some GPUs and CPUs just work better with the game for no apparent reason. No longer a big issue since it is an older game, but boy it was bad in 2013-2015 with some rigs.

Budget Builds often tests some older hardware with the game and results vary a ton.

lmao

/thread

Will I be happy?

SimCity 4
Supreme Commander

Who gives a fuck?

you think I'm OP or creator of this image, dude? seriously? you should already know by now how anything works

WoT used to do that, I don't know if this is still the thing.

Gotta love how this thing always give cruel, but true answers.

That's literally just drivers & API 101
Source is dated for sure, but take a look at pubg if you want a reality check

OK Yas Forums explain to me why cores start at 0, did the first multi core cpus only have 2 core?

Don't you dare fucking say this. I just got a ryzen 16 core and was intended on blowing the shit out of arma 3

I just went to go post this lmao

>Core 1
Where core 0 at?

Is Yas Forums a nice place?

Oblivion only stresses one core and often bottlenecks the GPU

>for realtime applications physics simulations MUST be done on, a single core
Objectively wrong, physics simulation is one of the best examples of parallel computing on every uni course about parallel architectures
Why the fuck people like you need to share their opinion on thigns they know nothing about?

>They run fine despite better looking modern games running at like 4 times the framerate.
Its the same argument Arma3 fags use.

Check out this faggot.

Computers start counting *everything* at 0 because, as you know, computers use 0s and 1s to count. What this means is computers count in "base 2" number system, whereas contemporary math uses "base 10".

So in base 2:
0: core "1"
1: core "2"
10: core "3"
11: core "4"

And so on.
