Garland tells the Warriors of Light that the power of the Four Fiends in the present sent him to the past when he was on the brink of death after his defeat, and Garland then sent the Four Fiends in the past to the present. By doing this, Garland has created a time loop that will allow him to live forever.
>The original Time Jannie aren't the heroes of light the time jannies though?
Easton Phillips
Time Janny ensures the current flow of timeline doesn't get distrupted, 4 Heroes of Light literally go there to break the current flow of timeline (Garland's loop) so no. Garland on the other hand is doing everything in his power to ensure the loop remains intact ergo he's the time janny.
Ryder Baker
a time loop is a continious disruption of the flow of time, therefore garland is the disruptor
Noah Bailey
That would imply the original timeline was different when it wasn't. The original timeline is quite literally this: Garland arrives in the kingdom as vagrant knight Becomes a local "hero" Wants to tap the princess pussy Princess tells him to fuck off Garland kidnaps her Warriors of Light arrive and pick up the bountry hunter contract to rescue princess As Garland dies, the local Fiends that destroyed the ancient Lufenian civilization send him back to the past to ensure he'll be their agent there and keep sending the past-Fiends to the future Garland goes along with it because it creates a time loop for him where he remains immortal It's implied the original Warrior of Light were killed by the future-fiends after Garland's defeat because Garland says he saw this cycle repeat many times by now.
That's the original timeline, the timeline never progressed beyond that because it loops from that point, and Garland ensures that it doesn't deviate from that pattern making him the time janny of that timeline.
The reason the Warriors of Light don't get killed by the fiends in the timeline you're playing as the player, according to Dissidia lore, is because Cid the Lufenian and Cosmos intervene and empower them.

I played dissidia and don't really remember Cid and Cosmos enpowering the warriors of light. Can you state your sources?
Jeremiah Jones
Not him but its in the Chaos files in Duodecim where it says how this all takes place before FF1 as a testbed for making Chaos the ultimate weapon or somesuch. Plus iirc the overworld map in Duodecim is the FF1 map as well. There's also the ending cutscene where everyone's in that field after beating Chaos and saying their goodbyes before going back to their own worlds. After everyone else leaves, WoL just walks to the top of the hill with his Crystal of Light and you see Cornelia Castle.
didn't the ending imply that after defeating chaos and returning to the present (somehow), the warriors of light forget the adventure they were just on? or was that something the nintendo power guidebook made up?
Xavier Gray
>didn't the ending imply that after defeating chaos and returning to the present (somehow), the warriors of light forget the adventure they were just on? Nope, in fact the ending straight up tells you that after coming back to the present they have one last task left to do - Garland is waiting for them (since they return to the future before Garland is defeated and sent back to the past). >or was that something the nintendo power guidebook made up? Yep, fanfiction from Nintypower.
Sorry was AFK, but pretty much answered for me.

In FF1? The 4 fiends are rotting the world. Garland dies in the present, and gets sent back to the past to become a Host for Chaos. The Heroes destroy the Fiends in the present, but that doesn't solve the issue. So they transport back in time, where the Fiends has been resurrected by Chaos, which is why the present world continues to rot. Reslay the Fiends, Reslay Garland, Chaos breaks out of his shell in a final attempt to salvage the attempt, loses. The Heroes return to the present, before the starting point of their quest, where the events that lead to their quest did not transpire.
In Dissidia this gets more complicated because Dissidia is a form of metafiction.
>not having PSP/Vita/Switch >not just emulating Plebeius Maximus
Landon Ward
is this from ff14?
Isaiah Nguyen
i have a switch and psp. i don't want to emulate things anymore. i did it when i was a broke teenager, but that was a long time ago. i'd rather just pay for things that i like and at least it'll work without any roms or any other steps, even though roms weren't that hard.

Mobius, a now dead mobile game from FF13 devs, story was really fucking good and game was surprisingly F2P friendly if you didn't care about the monthly Tower Event where whales competed for most boss kills of an increasingly harder, respawning boss, people with Top 100/200/300/400/500/1000 scores got premium currency as reward. It's set in another world than FF1, but the Garland in it is the FF1 Garland, at the end of the Warriors of Light storyline (there's two storylines in Mobius, Warriors of Light and Warriors of Ruin), Garland gets "kicked out" of the Mobius world and ends up in FF1 world.

yeah, you'll grow up some day. if you get to live off the gov't and have a lot of time to devote to just games and emulation, then more power to you. otherwise, you'll learn. edginess was cool to everyone at some point, but time wears you out. you'll likely "ok boomer" me, but really, spending
Luke Miller
>he thinks I'm not a boomer Good goyim, didn't even read the rest of the post

Well since you're already halfway retarded, you may as well purchase the mobilephone versions because pretty much every FF up to like 7 or 9 is on it.

Being stupid with your money doesn't make you rich or smart, it makes you stupid

So everyone that attempts piracy is a "broke child" or trying to be "edgy" (whatever that means) in your eyes? If money is that easy to come by then just buy literally any playstation home console besides PS4 and get the games off of ebay instead of "wishing" you could play them. You have multiple options to get the games and play them but your post implies that it's somehow out of your reach, were you HOPING someone suggested piracy so you could mentally jack off about the fact you make an decent salary compared to the average American on the internet?
Seriously I'm asking, what was the point of your original post? It takes like 8 seconds to type "Ebay GBA SP" and buy one for less than $50 and dawn of souls is like $20. Congratulations you can afford an approx $80 ~ $90 (at most) purchase. What a fucking idiot, good for you.
