Magic the Gathering: Arena

It finally happened. Wizards created a more busted mechanic than dredge. How the fuck did they manage it?

the way this is phrased, it seems that "mana cost of 2" is just a way to count in effects that requires a converted mana cost, and doesn't actually change the cost of anything (because it would create problems with multicolors and lands)
Nothing should ever be allowed to be played from outside the game, though.

...

Only fags play Standard, Modern and Legacy

what do you play faggot

This card is legal in literally every format but pauper you retard.

Cry to the mods if you want baby boy but they have consistently left MTG threads up since Arena came out because it has a video game now. As long as people are talking about cards and formats in Arena it's a video game.

Just cast Shock bro

it's a 3/2 lifelink that lets you return things from your graveyard, and is effectively a commander/8th card in your hand that can't be thoughtseize'd.

cube draft and premodern

Can anyone post some cards from unhinged or the other joke sets? I don't play this game but those are interesting.

It requires you to gimp your whole deck around it if you want to use it as commander

Scryfall.com is all you need for cards.

Why yes, I only play Commander.

yeah, side in grave hate for a single card
rotfl

>gimp your whole deck around it
Jund only has to sacrifice Lili and BBE, most burn lists don't need to sacrifice anything, and even fucking UG Merfolk are switching their manabases to UGB and UGW to side him in.
you don't need 3~4+ mana permanents if you're winning on turn 3 or 4 consistently.

implying the most aids cards in the game right now don't do shit with the graveyard, nigga I'm not gonna stop running that shit or this, or both.

the most aids card right now dodges right past graveyard hate, actually.

no it doesn't

>standard plebs struggling with 6 drops
LOL

the only way to play.

it dodges leyline
>If a replacement effect causes a player to exile the top four cards of their library instead of putting them into their graveyard as Gyruda’s triggered ability resolves, the creature card you choose may be one of those cards in exile.
>(2020-04-17)
it doesn't dodge grafdigger, i'll give you that, but i'm sure players better than me have adapted to that too by using removal or siding in their own leylines

it's not just standard. legacy Gyruda is assraping everything, because it's one of the only two decks that can get away with mulling to 2 or less to get them Lion's Eye Diamonds. the other one being Lurrus, who gives you free 2 storm count by just existing alongside LED.
fuck, there's only one or two companions that haven't raped any format yet, and one of them, Kaheera, got 5-0 on MTGO modern tournaments in a cat tribal deck.

>LED
>LED
>Gyruda from sideboard
>Blightsteel
I'm a massive Timmy, is there an easier way of breaking it in Legacy?

nah, that's pretty much how everyone does it. maybe with 3x Gyruda in main deck and a few copy clones (phantasmal image, spark double, etc.) and felidar guardians for consistency in flipping 90% of your deck, too.

>How the fuck did they manage it?
By copying Hearthstone

since when did hearthstone have commanders?

Why would grave hate not be your default state anyways

You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. In vintage and legacy there is plenty of broken ways to quickly get mana. In standard you can complain about "struggling with 6 drops" but you're either a retard or not aware of the current standard environment. Simic ramp was meta even before this card because it can ramp stupidly fast. Gyruda is hybrid so you don't even need to run him in a Dimir deck, people just run him in Simic mostly with Spark Doubles and more copies of himself so that it plays like cascade. Literally the only format safe from his shit is Pioneer or Modern but again not sure why you're talking about standard when you clearly don't even know what it's like right now.

Absolutely disgusting. Being in blue allows for Force of Will on top of that, which just makes everything worse.

The way I've seen people do it is a load of 4 CMC clones like spark double, that one from Kamigawa, the UR one and a copy of Dragonlord Kologhan to give them all haste
