Every day I live in fear of my PS3 getting YLOD'D.
Is there any other console that makes you take a diazepam 5mg and propanolol 10mg before powering it on?

For some my Wii U's fan died out despite not using it that much, and I had to replace it. Wonder if it's ever going to happen again.
Did you at least renew the thermal paste OP?
I think my PS4 is dying every time its jet engine starts up
Did someoen say Diazepam?
I don't even know if my models are affected.
My main PS3 is a slim 2001b and I also have a slim 2101.
There's so many fucking differences between models it's annoying what flaws to keep track of.
I think the 2001b is prone to YLOD but has a better disk drive? That's why I use it because I play PS1 games physically.
MGS benzos are called Pentazamine actually. Probably equivalent to xanax considering how long it lasts, also it would be retarded to use on a battle field compared to diazepam because the latter has an active metabolite and a much longer half-life. Bezno withdrawal can easily precipitate seizues.
Install extra cooling and stronger Fans
I did it 6 years ago and my PS3 stopped getting YLOD
this nigga look just like me
I built a PC 3 years ago and I've constantly lived in fear of it just giving out.
The only games you need a PS3 for are Demon's Souls and Killzone 2, and one of those is already perfectly emulatable.
PS3 can suck my nuts, I'm a Sonyfag but 7th gen consoles were a horrible time for vidya.
YOLO(D)
Do you have the rare PS2 backwards compatible one? Or are you just a poorfag who can't buy another one?
What? Why? Sounds like some anxiety issues man.
This times 9000
I actually had my motherboard just die recently after having it for about 3 years. I don't even really know what the fuck happened. I put my pc into sleep mode and went to the store. When I came home it no longer worked.
>emulating anything
please hang yourself
My PS1
PS1 are now reaching the age where the lasers are dying, mine hangs on the PlayStation logo screen a bit long now, and some FMVs skip a little bit even on discs in immaculate condition.
Also my Dreamcast, mine has no signs of struggle, it’s as good as it was day 1 back in 1999, but Dreamcast is famous for being finicky and prone to issues. Even though mine has no problems it’s in the back of my mind.
All PS3s have terrible thermal design. Of yours is a fat model they are all highly at risk of YLOD. The best thing you can do is to install CFW to better monitor the temps and control the fans. When you know the current temps you should renew the paste and compare. Depending on how warped your cooler is our might not improve on your first try since you might need an unusual amount. But leaving the old stuff on there is killing your console. The actual best thing to do is delidding but it is very dangerous.
Cheap out on the PSU like a fucking retard, did you?
They cost like tree fiddy OP just buy two and put them in a cupboard
Hack that shit and put the fans at 75%. It will sound like a jet engine, though
is playing ps1 games easier on the ps3's internals/temps than playing ps3 games?
Older disc consoles in general.
I used to fear like you, until I bought a SeaSonic PSU.
Same.
>PS3 YLOD'd
>Sly Collection stuck inside the disc reader
>screw on the HDD is stripped so it can't be removed
>PS3s require initiating data migration from the OS anyway so stuffing the HDD into a new console won't work
It's still runs an emulator to play them. Mine sounds as loud or louder when I play PS1 games compared to PS3.
It should, but considering it's software emulation I'm going to say the difference is not that high.
about the same. the only game i noticed fucks my ps3 up is The Last of Us.
emulation is going to continue on without you user, you can sit and be mad about it, but it wont change anything
would letting old consoles just sit and not powering them on be OK? Nothing would degrade from them just sitting? I got a fat ps3 with ps2 backwards I want to one day swap out the thermal paste etc etc
My WiiU died, never bother to change that disk drive. I think about it sometimes.
just swap that nigger out for a PS3 slim instead. what could you possibly want with an old fat model? if it's PS2 emulation, you could just get an old PS2 with a hacked memory card and load it with whatever games you want via USB. you can emulate PS2 on CFW slim models too.
my last 2 gpus died like this too. no problem at all after shutting down, then wont turn on again.
i tell you hardware an internal suicide programmed into it triggered by random amount of uses or something
