Pikmin 2 was better. For that reason, I can't justify higher than a 9/10 for Pikmin 1. Pikmin 2 alone gets the 10/10. Also, pic related. What are some other series where the second game is the best by far?

Unlike other anons in this thread, I actually liked Pikmin 1 more than 2. Pikmin is at its best when you're trying to micromanage at the most efficient level possible within a given time limit rather than level design-less caves that spam the most stupid traps, obstacles, and enemies your way in a game that's devoid of much combat strategy except spamming sprays and Purple Pikmin.

Pikmin 1 isn't a 10/10 game though because of how horrendous the AI can be. Though I'd argue it comes damn close. If you want a game that succeeds on everything it tries to achieve, that'd be Ghost Trick in my eyes. A delightful dose of gripping intertwined story and gameplay matched with a lovely style and soundtrack.

I wasn't a big fan of all the caves in Pikmin 2. Pikmin 1 was also a perfect length and wasn't too long. Also the atmosphere in Pikmin 1 is just so much better than in the sequel.

I thought the caves were the best part. I really loved that they were kinda randomized to an extent. Makes me mad they never sprang for a roguelike mode.

Just imagine an HD rerelease with full ultra wide support on PC and upscaled graphics, I'd die for that.
If I were to guess why they're not doing it, it because of the licensing for the music, I know they had an issue with one of the songs from JSR when they rereleased it in HD.

3 was the worst one, 2 was the best one.

nah, it's one location too short in my opinion.
Plus the final boss area always seemed extremely rushed to me, and the final boss lacked an intro or setup, especially with the bomb gimmick.
