Was there a reason for this?

Is it just a quirky Japanese thing to do or was there some other reason characters kept shush motioning? Sometimes there were legitimate reasons, like Tifa wanting Cloud to be quiet when Marlene was sleeping, but other times it stood out because it was uncalled for. I feel like there were other examples, but I can't scrub through hours of cutscenes.

Its definitely a Japanese thing cause your character does it at the end of the XIV ShB story as well. I dont know what it means but apparently Nomura loves doing that shit so expect it about 48549 times in the next ff7 remake episodes.
